I always think about the kids in the back. This is a total nightmare situation, true blessing that it wasn't any worse. Good reason to drive a big heavy car or SUV.

In the interest of accuracy and after obtaining vehicle registration info, the garbage truck gvw is 28181 lbs with no load.

So the car was a complete write-off. Good news was insurance has cut a cheque that pays off the car entirely. Already did a deal for a new one.

Will be getting a 2016 M5, Singapore grey over sakhir orange. It has the Ultimate Package (Canada only, apparently). Looking forward to the titanium exhaust and competition pack. Scored it from another Canadian dealer, so cut out the 3 month+ wait. Hoping to see it in a couple weeks.

Well, that's a great ending to a really bad story. I just read this thread and glad no one was hurt. But, note to self, don't put golf clubs in trunk.
