F10 M5 LCI or not? How to tell from VIN!

Hi all

Looking to pick up a 11-2013 produced M5 that has Adaptive LED option, rear-seat entertainment etc.

Pictures of the car aren't available yet, is there anything in the VIN decoding that gives away whether or not it is infact an LCI? It is a UK car by the way.

Thanks!!

In North America it's the 10th digit. D is 2013, E is 2014, F is 2015, and so on. LCI as you know begins with 2014 model year.
Also, here's a great site using last 7 digits of VIN to look up vehicle specific information. www.bmwvin.com.

It is a D there but how would I know if it received the LCI build, were LED headlights (Option 552) offered on Pre-LCI?

Not sure but if you type in the last seven digits of the VIN and don't see option 7MA (Competition Package) that means that the car does not have it.
Also, since D is model year '13, it's unlikely.

7MA isn't there, but it doesn't have competition package.

As far as I know first time LED were offered was on LCI and I can say that with some degree of certainty and this is only for M5 as M6 had them since inception I believe !

Enjoy in good health

Can't you just tell from the touch pad on the idrive controller? pre LCI doesn't have it, ah I've seen that the pictures aren't available, well I wouldn't buy the car without seeing it regardless..
