I see a 650i GC at parking garage at work quite a bit. It has started to look a bit too big/awkard for me personally. Kind of reminds me of the large american sedans from late 70s early 80s. M5 seems more proportional. I considered it for a bit too, mainly because the headlights are initially a bit more slick but I think the new LCI M5 lights are just as nice.

I test drove an M5 and a 650i GC. I ended up choosing the 6GC.
First of all, I didn't need the extra power in the M5 for what was effectively going to be a daily driver. But the much bigger factor to me was the body roll I felt in the M5. Coming from a 535i, the body roll felt all too familiar in the M5. Was really disappointed. But the 6GC has none of it. The ride is much more buttoned down. And after I got home, I figured out a big reason.... Look at the specs. The roof on the M5 is 3 inches higher than the 6GC! I think that's quite a difference. If you want a tighter ride, go with the M6GC. Plus the 6GC is the most beautiful car BMW makes as far as I'm concerned. |
