hi from the UK new M5 owner
well 54 big ones gets you a 2012 plate m5 with 6700 miles on the clock. I brought this from a dealer who was selling it for his neighbour, and after BMW were rude to me I decided to try and find one outside of the BMW. Anyway lucky I did as I saved myself some dosh and brought one from a chap in his late 40's who was also a BMW nut. This particular one had the options I wanted
Soft close doors Comfort access optional comfort dynamic seats surround view heated rear seats service pack for 5 years etc etc Anyway on Monday George picked me up and we headed down to a small village to pick her up (once the dosh was sorted) an hour later it was being reversed out of the showroom and I let mr G have the first drive. While there we first spotted this and forgot about the M5 33k miles! they have owned it for the past 7 years and wont sell it....reminded me of my college days a very very clean example! anyway here is the spec here is George smiling I let George have the first drive the car is amazing that's all I can say the 7 speed DCT is so much better then the e60 there is no jerking and just so smooth, when you put your foot down it just pulls and pulls and pulls! this car is amazing it well be evern more epic when its mapped...for now im happy to light the wheels up at 90mph which it well all day long!! anyway first mod was to fit the tuner motorsport axle back exhaust system with optional carbon tips. I brought this from a fella who was returning his m5 back to standard standard exhaust After 1h 30 mins it was all fitted...most of the time was spend double checking we had marked the exhaust up correctly before chopping of the old system This exhaust sounds epic it now sounds like a Ferrari, speak to Afy, Titane46 who have heard it...its amazing..when you put your foot down people turn around and don't expect to hear a BMW coming down the road...the turbos also sound louder...all in all a excellent upgrade luv it! Next up was K and N air filters which simply plop in (the last torx on the air boxes are bastards to get to) but I knew this by reading the trouble the yanks have but managed to get there in the end After that Phil at SCR painted the engine cover, the side vents and the front grills carbon black (as opposed to sap black) for me front grills side vents Few shots after attacking the car with some polish and glaze Interior So there you have a few mods covered in a few days...next week its time for the suspension! This is by far the best car I have ever ever owned (apart from my van). I'm still getting used to the power and I don't think its something you can get too cocky in...for now i'm just chilling....until I map it lol! |

You should have bought the XR2.
I think if I had been there I would have snapped that up in a heartbeat. I always wanted one of those when I was in high school, but my parents only gave me enough budget for a Citroen AX 1.1. Congrats on the M5 though - I would buy that too!

Looks like an XR2 to me - with the foglights, the red coach stripe, and red striped tweed upholstery.

Westsidee90 - car looks beautiful, same colours as mine
If you want a map contact Jason at BW Chip tuning - he has a genuine stage 1map producing 640 ish. He is well known in the BMW UK scene and is meant to be a genius. I was going to do it but bottled it because of the warranty. Cheers, James |

Hi dude I phoned up about one for sale in Hull, they never retuned my calls even though I chased, and then when I did it through to someone they didn't know anything about the car in question the spec etc etc and then again never rang me back when they said there find out. The only time they rang me back is when they wanted to know if I wanted to buy it!......too late I went elsewhere to buy it!
