Bought a 2015 f10m5 dealer told me it has comp pack but if fact it does not??

Hello guys,

a silly question, as I stated in the title...

all dealer document shows a comp package, but wheel is 20in(not the special comp package one). It does have the black chrome exhaust tip, from which I conclude my m5 being a comp package one... Brought this m5 to my friends shop and one guy decoded the vin and found out he didn't see a comp package. He told me black chrome sport exhaust tip is an option for the regular m5, however every comp pack m5 will have the special wheels.

What should I do next? Bought from a BMW dealer, have all the info they showed me.

any words is appreciated

Double check vin decode yourself like https://www.bmwvin.com

You should find S7MAA (7MA really) competition package down the list. If not, your car isn’t really a competition pak car. Good luck.

The comp pack includes the 601 wheels but a lot of people opted to go with the 343 wheels with the comp pack instead, as the 343s are forged. Both the 601s and 343s are 20".

Mine came with the black 20 in. 343's. It even shows up in the vin decode for my car as option 2TY.

These guys are claiming the car has the competition package, but it does not when I look it up on the vin decoder....

I was planning on getting this one very soon. Does the competition package make a big difference? @tlk

Yep it does not have CP, the silver exhaust tips also gave it away.

CP cars has a little more power but you can't feel it and it also handles better but again for normal every day driving makes no difference. But I would go for CP cars nonetheless.

You can drive it and see if you like it. The CP comes with slightly better dampers and springs, but many replace those anyway. I prefer the CP steering rack, which is one feature that can't be retrofitted hence I waited until the right car came along but I have patience and it did take quite a while

How to know what options and packages are on your car

Register your BMW at bmwusa.com and you will see all the packages for your car or simply go to bmwvin.com and enter your VIN number. Any one of ttwo will tell you what packages and options came with your car
