Watch remains man's only meaningful piece of jewelry, tried to replace my Breitling with a smart watch and just simply couldn't and that's wasn't a "smart" thing to even try !! Watches are a statement like an M5 if you will -

I love this thread, but it makes me feel like a cheapskate for having just one watch, the same Rolex I bought 37 years ago. It just keeps on ticking.

I had my sister take this photo, so I hope it works. It's actually 38 years old because I bought it in September 1976. It's a Rolex Datejust 14k Gold and Stainless. Rolex didn't start selling 18k Gold in the US until sometime in the 1980's. If only I had waited one more year because in September 1977 I was browsing through the Rolex counter at Bucherer's in Lucerne and they had a fantastic assortment, all of them at least 20% less than current US prices and all of them 18k. One more thing. The exchange rate back then was 2.5 Swiss francs to the dollar.
