So if I go with PSS on stock 343 wheels and do the 305/30/20 what should I get? 103y or 99y

For the zeros 305/30/20 what rating?

I don't want that crazy bulge

For aesthetic purposes, definately get 99Y in either brand.

I believe MPSS run too wide for the 343Ms. I recall seeing pictures posted here and they were building. The PZeros are narrower so the 305 99Y fit perfectly with no bulge

The Pirelli PZero are ZR rate. Y is also a speed rating. The 99 Vs 103 is the load rating.

Y - Up to 186 mph
Z - 149 mph and over
Thanks for your answer
But mine says both ZR any Y
So i am still a little confuside

They all do ... I am still confused why they put both on tires. All I know is I am good to hit my 200

Yup! 103Y is the culprit. Gotta go 99Y and they are beautiful

Hey guys,

I am about to get these tires as my current MPSS are giving me too much wheel spin and the rears only have maybe another 3-5K left in them. Does it matter if it says Mercedes? I am also stepping up the front tire sizing as I don't want to further increase under steer. The front wheels can accommodate it. The 102Y load rating shouldn't hurt? as the front of the car is heavier anyway. The 99Y load rating in the back should be fine as I rarely carry passengers. Also helps to not have a crazy bulge as the oem rear wheels are really good for 295.

I would probably remain with 265 fronts for cost reasons.. But looks good..

I ordered MPSS 305's (think they might be 103y) They are sitting at my shop in Miami, need to find some time to have them installed along with my new spacers. Hope they really help with traction, now i break traction on the highway rolling at 60mph. Time for some new tires!

Might see some bulging, not just because of 103 but it PSS run wider than PZeros. Take some pictures for us. I'm sure a lot of people would love to fit the PSS

I found a calculator here,

http://bndtechsource.ucoz.com/index/...alculator/0-20

It calculates that a lower load rating (all else being equal) yield a bigger contact patch area, a little counter-intuitive for me.

Thanks! I ended up going with 275 for the front since the price difference wasn't big. I thought it would also be nice to keep the speed variance ~0.9-1% slower for both front and rear.

Always check the manufacturer specs, not all tires are created equally so using a calculator is only to be used as a guide. It's known that PSS of all sizes run wider than let's say a PZERO of the same diameter and width. Hence why PZero in 305 99Y fit without an issue vs a 305 PSS. On Toyo, you can fit a 315 on the stock 343Ms with minimal bulging. It's not just the loading but also the construction of the tire are different. 103 Pirelli vs 103 PSS look completely different on our cars as far as how they bulge and look.

PSS Specs 305/30/20 103Y

Section Width 12.3
Tread Width 11.8

PZero Specs 305/30/20

99Y
Section Width 12.5
Tread Width 11.4

103Y
Section Width 12.3
Tread Width 11.7

I'll take some pics, i also got spacers to install at the same time. Was thinking 12mm front (stock 265's) and 10mm rear (new 305's).

Not sure spacers on the rear can work with 305s

Got them installed and looks good. The 305 99Y Pirellis look almost identical to the 295 Michelin PSS in the rear. The 275s also provide a little more meat up front and to protect the wheels fromt curb rash a bit more. Great combo and totaled over ~$400 savings over MPSS (they are back-ordered now anyway).

How do you like them vs. the MPSS in terms of grip, road noise, ride quality?

Yes I went with yours and 13M5F10 recommendations. A few thousand miles will last me until next summer, and then I will try rear R888
