Michelin PSS - Amazing

I managed to wear out my rear OEM Pirellis in 6,000 miles

Got the MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT from Tire Rack and very happy with the driving experience. I feel like I can put down power better, the car handles better, and it is a little quieter than the Pirellis. I really like the limited 30K warranty on the Michelins because I know I'll have to use the credit to replace the rears inside of 10,000 miles (due to my driving habits).

Nice, I have both Pirelli and Michelin and feel the Michelin's does have better traction.

What size tires did you get? did you go wider than OEM on the rear?

30000 mile warranty is cut in half when you have different sizes on front and rear

I got the OEM size and swapped out my 601M wheels for the 343M style - much prefer the latter although I did not mind the 601M. My wife says the damn car is like my own "American Doll" that I am constantly accessorizing and the accessories cost an arm and a leg.

HA^ But she's most likely right though. : )

What did you do with your 601s? are you planning to sell those? Personally, I think I prefer the look of the 601 on the F10 body granted its not forged.

I would like to sell them but dreading going through the process. They are pristine - i.e. only 5,800 miles and not a blemish. Any chance you are interested?

What you will do with tires, will not be covered by that warranty...

I had PSS, but then changed to 305/30/20 PSC2's and the grip went to a whole new level again, only thing is they need a little heat to start working, soon as their 20c+ they grip like glue !! and extremely good in wet too

I Just took delivery of a 2016 with the comp pack.

Currently has Pirelli's on it and I keep spinning tires. seems like they are very rough to the touch and not much grip even tho they have lots of tread left on them. Not the sticky grip I would expect on a car like this

My 550xi felt faster, like its putting down the power better....

the new car is a 6 speed manual not DCT

Thinking of changing to the Michelins to stop that and get some more grip.

thoughts??

The Pirelli tires are crap. My Jaguar F-Type R and my Porsche 911 Turbo S both came with Pirellis. In both cases I replaced with michelins. On my Porsche I installed the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires last week. The Michelin's are a huge leap forward in grip over the Pirellis. Plus they make less road noise so you can hear the exhaust better.

If I was you I would switch them out as soon as you can. Get the new Michelin 4S. Sell the Pirellis while they are fairly new, or go to the track and destroy the Pirellis.

Pretty much my thoughts now as well, I might just go to a 305 rear tire up from the hem 295 size...I've been told that helps too

go Mich asap , sell your pirellis for half what you paid for mich's and you'll be very happy

Nite/day diff over pirelli in every aspect

pirelli is a great tire for AWD cars not ours , bmw went to them as a last ditch effort when mich back ordered in 2015 and pirelli gave em such a good deal that bmw couldnt refuse even though the good deal came at our expense in terms of grip !!

ugh hate the pirellis on our cars !!

It's not great on AWD cars either. The Michelin 4S grips much better on my AWD cars.

The Pirelli is a shit tire. Full stop.

The only reason OEMs use Pirelli is because Pirelli sells them cheap for OEM fitment.

This is funny , just like Patron and Grey Goose as example have good names so do these pirelli's but in reality they're Garbage..so crazzy... i always thought pirelli was #2 w Mich being #1 but lately im hearing about Vred's and hankook's stepping up their games and seem's as if the pirellis are taking back seat to these

I looked them up on Tirerack, not available for a while in the 305 rears... The oem sizes seem to be available but wont get shipped until mid April for my area (NY)

Also,I've been told by several people to go 305 30 20 in the rears for better traction regardless of tire brand for our cars..

I ordered my PS4's two weeks ago from TireRack (20") and delivery is mid May. Can't wait. I have 5K on my 2016 Comp PZero's. Since day one I felt like I was driving on ice every time I hit the gas. No tread left on the rears and the traction gets worse every day. Dreaming of my new PS4's...
