CD changer? wtf?

looking through the glovebox to check up on what needs to be done at the 1200 break-in service and I found a drawstring that leads to a 6-disc changer.

Does anyone still use this? seems so 2004! do all M5s come with this or is it standard with the B&O?

no complaints, but seems like media overload with BT, in-dash CD, iphone connector, XM/AM/FM/HD. maybe in the trunk there is an 8 track?

They showed me this at ED - I thought it was so strange to yank on the cord to get to the changer. Not sure y it isnt an in dash changer.

I have it too. True waste of space since without coding your passenger can't watch nothing while moving.

It comes as standard with the base audio system. Not a waste of space if you have any DVD audio discs as those won't play from the in-dash CD player.

Nope.
Rear seat entertainment uses seperate DVD player(s) , can't play rear seat screens with front DVD and neither front screen with rear seat DVD

But that's easy enough to solve , either code it yourself, have someone do it
remote or just buy the USB stick based method from someone like DVDinMotion

My OEM DVD Professional System does play the DVDs to the rear screens off of this (without coding). Also, everything is coded for in motion. Pretty nice.

Correct . I should have confirmed via the tech literature

As you can see below the DVDC (DVD Changer) is on the same bus (now) as the RSE
(Rear Seat Entertainment)
