Awesome! At this point I think you can give the engine a clean bill of health.

Serhat06 did you buy OE bearings when you replaced yours or which brand did you use?

I am a salvage yard bought one for myself from an insurance sale fixed the RF 3/4 of the car now once I got it running its got a light lower knock with only 10,400 miles on the dang thing.

Had a similar problem in my 550i. Rod bearing at 44k miles - 3 months away from warranty expiring. Got a new N63 and turbos and should be good to go today. Whew!

nut be careful, upper shells are different then lower once. and they have directions. and you need to buy once you remove yours and find out what color code you have.

Also, if you are interested in an extended warranty talk with you local dealership representative about it. I bought my extended warranty from BMW and it was expensive but it was the best deal out of anybody and I got the Platinum coverage.
What is *not* covered under the Platinum coverage? What is the worst thing you could be on the hook for?

I done oil change every 7000-10000km. in BMW service. I use redline racing 5w40 oil. And every time they put 9,5l oil. Im doing test every kind of way.
Electronic dipstic show full mark add 9,5l. If you put 9,8l dipstic show overfill. When dipstics drops 1 scale and we drain oils out engine oil is 8.0l. And when idrive shows add. 1l liter you had only 7,2l oil. if you add 1l dipstic show full mark. My car dipstic drops 1 scale about 7000km-8000km and every time i add 1l. (last interval is 8200km and dipstic show max. And BMW dealer drain out 8,3l)

in USA you drive low engine oli every time if use only 8,5l
And yes dipstic show max 8,5l but it shows max 9,5l overfilled 9,8l
Thats why many cars (M5 f10) in USA have this oil consuption problem and rod bearings problem. Oil pressure is to low since day 1 when first oil change is 1200ml and Europe 2000km.

Sorry my very bad english

im sorry use google translater.

Meillä Euroopassa 2011 ja uudempien M5 ja M6 bmw moottoriöljy tilavuus 9,5l (www.bmwetka.com) Itse käytän Redline racing 5w40 öljyä. Siinä on bmw LL01 luokitus. Itse vaihdan öljyt valtakunnallisessa bmw huollossa. 7000-10000km välein. Autolla ajettu 72000km. Olen tutkinut tämän asian bmw mekaanikkojen kanssa. Kun moottoriöljyä laitetaan 9,5l näyttää öljytikku max merkissä.Kun öljyä laitetaan 9,8l näyttää idrive ylitäyttöä. Kun öljytikku putoaa yhden asteen max merkistä alaspäin olemme välittömästi ottaneet autosta öljyt pois. Silloin autossa on 8,0l öljyä.

So you mean in the US the dealer doesn't add enough oil during service in the first place?

Sorry my very bad english
i usually put 8.5 and drive it for 40 mins then measure add 1 quarter more.
and also it makes big difference if you drain oil cooler or not.

Hi. This engine is original condition except turbos and some electric items mafs and some others. I think the car driven pretty normal in roads. But yes car is been track days many times. And last 3years car is tuned. Same tune like mine (690hp and 910nm crank). Now in Finland many Bmw workshop uses Neste oil 5w40 in M bmw. But now i know he uses redline 5w40 in summer and 5w30 in winter.
And transmission oil is defenetly original 264000km. Mine was change in 55000km now my car is driven 81000km

Motul 300v power. Is this LL01? I think is not aprowed LL01 like both redline oil 5w40 and 5w30. And yes my transmission is change both filters and New oil pan and 8,6l new dct oil. Are you read fault codes after this happend?

Are you or anybody familiar with Oil groups and hydrocracked oils PAO bases oils or Ester oils
?

No I have not read faults
Motul 300v is not LL01
But redline 5w30 and 5w40 is. Redline.com
But yes you cant compare redline and castrol same day. Redline is much better.

Bearing Failure

Sept 2016 F10 M5, 40k On The Clock. Owned For 3 Weeks. Big End Bearing Failure, Thankfully I Had The Sense To Buy From An Approved Bmw Dealer, New Engine And Turbos Supplied By Bmw At An Unknown Cost But I Will Find Out When I Collect The Car Again.
They Gave Me A Brand New 5 Series As A Courtesy Car. Only 50 Mile On The Clock After It Was Delivered.
Should I Be Looking A Better Warranty From Them For The Engine Other Than The 12 Months Supplied With The Car At Purchase??
