I'm not going to lie, my interest has been peaked, but the two things that kind of deter me from the F82 M4 are the exhaust note and the interior styling. The interior styling for the same reasons why I don't like the 6-Series/M6 interior styling, I can't get over the stand alone iDrive screen design.

But the exhaust note is what really worries me. We already have people saying that with an exhaust and perhaps cat delete the F82 M4 will remind them of the the E36 M3 S52 engine but with turbo whine. I never grew up liking/desiring the S52 powerplant and therefore has no special place in my heart, although I understand the racing heritage behind it. My world has always been dominated by ///M V8's and ///M V10's.

So will the more aggressive styling, greater torque, extremely well balanced handling, and drastically reduced weight of the F82 M4 do it for me? I dunno, but again, it has sure peaked my interest.

How do other E60 M5/E63 M6 or F10 M5/F13 M6 owners feel about it?

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=863311
I think the sound will be interesting when we finally can hear it in reality. Remember how the F10 M5's sound also was debated based off of Youtube videos from the Ring and elsewhere? It sounds different in the real world than it does on Youtube videos recorded on cheap(ish) video recorders with poor microphones.

Not saying it will sound great, but that I will wait to reserve judgement until I hear it in reality

IMHO the M3/4 will be a great car for daily and track use on the weekends, but the m5 is a completely different caliber. I dont have kids and I am 33, but for some reason I have always been attracted to large 4 door sport sedans.
Like Top Gear said the new M5 is the best all around car in the world.
With that said, our 335diesel's lease is coming up next April and will have to decide what to get. Would love to see what the M4 or 3 in a 4 door form is like, but if the family grows then might have to settle on something bigger.

I will say one thing that does attract me to the M3/M4 is the size. It'll be just slightly smaller than an E60/E63 chassis and that size chassis was the perfect size for me. The F10 still feels too big occasionally.

All I got to say is that I love all of you guys. I can see that I have rubbed off on a lot of you. Here is what I'm thinking.

Current Generation:

F82 M4 = Megan Fox (Every High School/College kid's fantasy girl, and older gentlemens fantasy affair)
F10 M5 = Catherine Zeta Jones (The 3 S's. Smart, Sexy, Sophisticated. A real mother to your children, yet can still kick your ass.)
F13 M6 Coupe = Penelope Cruz (Exotic, mature, full of passion, a bit unstable at times, and likes to experiment, i.e. M6 Gran Coupe)
F12 M6 Convertable = Kate Beckinsale (She's got that good girl, bad girl thing going on but in a very mature and sophisticated kind of way.)

Anyways, that's kinda how I see the world.
