2014 Unusual order option code

I have a BMW invoice from BMW AG for my 2014 that I just picked up. One item stands out and the dealer and I cannot figure what it may be...thought someone here may know.

14 0941 External Retrofit (no charge associated with it)

It is the last item prior to transport cost and shipping.

Any idea?

It appears to be standard...tips are chrome not carbon or Ti.

It is a mind game trying to figure it out.

Is it perhaps an auxiliary connector retrofit for external audio sources?

Nothing out of the ordinary on that either...I really need to get someone from BMW AG to look into it...just don't know who.

Its code "S941A Externe Nachrüstung"

Its usually used when something not on the normal options list is fitted on the vehicle
Its also know as the "special option" code.

Its most common with German police vehicles that get things like lights and sirens fitted.
It also shows up on some non-standard configurations like a certain paint and interior option that is not normally available.

Other times its almost impossible to figure out what made the code show up on a certain vehicle
It seems it can be anything out of the ordinary fitted, even things like extra shipping protection not usually fitted or special markings or police radios ect ect
Sometimes "individual" items fitted brings up the code

It does seem to pup up on many German market vehicles

That was how it was explained to me when I asked what the code meant. But aside for that no one can figure what was the change. As well, this is a US market M5. The vehicle was built late June 2014 and was never delivered...has been sitting in the BMW AG inventory since. I bought it with 6 miles on the clock as new from the dealership in Wurzburg and they have no clue as to what the change was.

For all practical purposes I see no external changes etc.

I will keep digging somehow on this.
