I know this bc I had a run in with Geico on one of my cars. I have been with GEICO for a long long time and they would not budge. I ended up paying a ton out of pocket to get that car back to OEM specs.

I went with Farmers and they cover OEM new parts and could not be happier. Its also nice to have a agent so you can just call them personally.
The problem I have is that I keep my M5 at my Florida address, while it is registered with my business in Montana and my DL is registered at my GA address. Geico and USAA are the only insurance companies which tolerate that degree of complexity.

I'm doing my best to find a military man's daughter to marry so I can upgrade to USAA.

I just signed the paperwork for my M5... bought from a dealer in Virginia (where I have my DL), to be titled in FL (no tax for military), and delivered to my house in TX. USAA has no problems keeping up with all this... oh and they already said they will match the lowest any other insurance company offers (so far, progressive has been the best at about $85 a month for the M5 with multi-car discounts)

If you are stuck with Geico I would highly recommend you contact them now and see if you can adjust your policy to cover new oem parts heaven forbid something happens to your car

I don't know if they can change it but maybe with a added cost they can

=) I married In.

Not the cheapest anymore for Auto and they were WAY off on my home insurance too. So I swapped to AMICA.

They were not willing to work with me on the prices as B-1 has stated. I may give it a go again just to compare.

They do have many other benefits thou.

Amica is the highest rated insurance company by JD Powers.

I've been doing some research and you are right. Never noticed since I've never made an insurance claim before.

Now I know I may switch to Liberty Mutual. Need to validate if they will accept my setup though.

B-1 Pilot - how is your paperwork organized.

Mine is like this
DL -GA
Title/plate - MT
Rated insurance location FL

Insurance card has Montana at the top, address is the GA one to match the license. This is what the police want to see since the card matches both the car and the driver.

I have had one claim with AMICA and they were awesome called every few days with status update had a check for the work in four days. Never had a claim when i was with USAA so I cant compare. I did have a few when I was with GIECO. They had to cut me a 108k check when a drunk driver (also with GIECO but only insured at min) totaled my 996TT X50. It took some time for the check approval but they were OK. Walked away from it thanks to the engine taking the force by being pushed in to the cabin =;(.

I've been a member for 20 years and have 3 insurance policies, all banking, and some investments with them... they know if they don't give me the best rates, I walk all these away from them (My MS guy has been itching to get the rest of my portfolio), so they negotiate -- ask to talk to a supervisor and state "I would really like to remain a USAA member, but your competitors are offering identical coverage at a reduced rate. Why can't you match this?" This is what works for me.

However, I already stopped using USAA for any sort of loan because they aren't as competitive (real estate or vehicles)... However, service-wise they just can't be beat. They bend over backwards for military and especially deployed military.

Only because JD Powers excludes USAA because of the military-only clause... JD Powers has had a long love affair with USAA, along with every other objective rater: https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/abou...s_and_rankings

Well right now I have:

VA - DL
VA - tags on current 2 cars
FL- Tag (coming for M5)
TX - Address and Insurance

However, VA is trying to charge me taxes both on vehicles and income, so I am dumping my VA DL and tags... I will have to get a TX DL, and I can register all the cars in FL no problem from afar as a military member.. in fact I get tax free on the new car as long as I dont bring it into FL for 6 months...

I love the USAA customer service! I need to call and see if they will price match Geico and Amica. I really want to stay with them and have been with them for years. I have Multiple accounts with them and have been a member for 17 years. Whenever you have to call in for any kind of service they are very friendly. I really hope they will price match. They are at $354 month for a 2014 M5, Geico is at $153. I'm 35, I have a perfect driving record and FICO in the high 700s I don't know why they would be so high... Amica was around $168 a month I think... I REALLY want to stay with USAA!!!

Something is seriously wrong with that. They were $108 a month to start with me and then came down. Same as you.. no accidents, great credit, multiple accounts.

That's amazingly high. Although premiums Are heavily affected by zip code.

I also have top tier credit and a clean license. I pay $1986 annually because my south Florida zip code is known for car theft by exporters, hurricanes, flooding, lots of crashes because of tourists not paying attention and watching the cruise ships, etc.

Whenever I am in Atlanta I switch my insurance zip code and it halfs my premium.

My quote was on line, I need to call and talk to a human being. I fell that if Amica and Geico are about 50% less than what I'm getting quoted from USAA, there must be some sort of disconnect...I'm off tomorrow so I'll give them a call and see whats up. I'm In Rhode Island, not the greatest for insurance rates but I thought that was just absurd...

I talked to USAA, they got me from $354 to $260 per month. They quoted me the $260 on a 2013 becuase they had no info on the 2014s yet. They were able to get the 2014 quote to $308, but said if I had a VIN number they might be able to get it down a little more. I'll be ordering mid november, how long in to the production will it be till I can get a vin number? Regardless, It doesn't look like USAA will be keeping my business. Geico and Amica both in the $150-$160 range per month...
