2014 M5 European Delivery

Just back from a June 27th delivery. Picked up the new M5, my first, and had a fantastic trip. Enjoyed with my wife and 11 year old son, who perhaps enjoyed the delivery process more than I did. If anyone out there questions the value of the European Delivery, I would highly recommend. Thanks to Al Ennes at United BMW for his great assist. We even took two laps around the delivery floor of the Welt before driving down the circular departure drive!

After flying into Paris, taking the TGV to Munich and delivery, and then on to Austria, Venice, Lake Como, Lake Lucerne, and finally Zurich for the drop-off and return to Atlanta from Zurich. Wonderful 11 days, 9 nights of driving the M5. In total 1265 km, and can't wait for it to arrive. My 2012 740i was waiting at the airport, and it seems so simple and plain compared to the M5.

Here are a few photos of our trip.

Congrats bud! I took delivery 3 days after you.
We flew into Munich, delivery, Salzburg, Murnau, Lindau, Lucerne... Now hitting Strasbourg... Then onto the 'Ring and then drop off in Frankfurt on the 10th and fly out on the 11th.
The wait for redelivery is going to be BRUTAL. My daily driver is a 2012 Infiniti M37x. It was my wife's, but she needed to take my X5 for her job so I am stuck with a very feminine Infiniti. Oh well... First-world problems I guess! Lol

Congrats. Great spec.

ED is an awesome experience. And the car is really special.

I picked up my MCB M5 on June 2. I went for the Sakhir Orange interior. It arrived in NY last Wednesday. Waiting for it to go thru customs and USDA inspection, then VPC. (I also have a little damage that needs to be fixed).

The redelivery wait is excruciating, but ultimately, rewarding (I expect/ hope/ pray).

Congratulations. Monte Carlo Blue is still one of my all time favorites. The color really epitomizes the spirit of BMW Motorsport in my opinion.

Do you think you'll get on the MV Integrity or the MV Torrens? Should put your M Fumpf in Brunswick July 23 or July 27. Zurich seems to be one of the drop offs that expedite transport to Bremerhaven......

Unknown. Haven't done any research as yet but either would be good. Zurich drop was very smooth.

Agreed on the Full Leather. It's important for me so the car doesn't feel like a 528 inside.

Do you know if there was a place to store your luggage or baby car seat at the BMW Welt? My delivery was scheduled for 2pm, but I wanted to tour the factory and museum without hauling my baby car seat around.

Full leather is good when is brand new.

To keep it looking pristine is pain the ass.

I had it on E60. But learned my lesson. I really don't have the time nor desire to put leather protectant once every 2 weeks.
