I did on my F430 but when I had a new battery installed I just had the dealer attach the eyelet's directly to the battery posts.

I looked at doing it myself but seemed to be a PIA to pull the floor out and access the connections there. They didn't charge me since they were putting in a new battery at the same time.

That's the one I got for my 2011 550i. I now use it on my 2014 M5. Kinda crummy that the car needs it at all, but at least it is a reasonable solution for me.

FWIW, I've also used it on a 2004 Lexus LS430 that had been sitting for a while. Perked it right up.

The negative eyelet should be fastened to a negative post on the body rather than to the batteries negative post. this prevents possible errors in the electrical system and intelligent battery sensors.

BMW specifically state this in the literature given out with their Ctek chargers

BMW USA are the only ones that sell the Deltran model.
Rest of the world get Ctek.

I had bad experiences with 2 Deltran international models I imported before Ctek became easily avilable here. Not one problem with multiple Cteks after years of use now.

Understood. There are positive and negative contact points under the hood - not in the trunk where the battery is. That is where I am looking to make the attachment.

Connect the positive eyelet straight to the battery in the trunk.
Then look behind the coverings in the trunk, you will find there are a couple bolts holding the negative wires for many systems to the body of the car (Lights, controllers ect ect).

These are where you want to fasten the negative side eyelet if you can.
Often one bolt has extra space and you can just remove the nut and add the Ctek eyelet.

This will prevent any problems with the intelegent battery senor

Thx. I was thinking that I had to do it under the hood.
