High mileage m5's
Looking to get into an m5/m6 (moreso m6) but just curious as to how these cars are holding up in the long term (over 35k) with the excess heat.. etc..
also contemplating the cls63, so much power to be had between the two platforms.. don't know what to do. |

I'm in the 62k+ range on mine. My experience has not been the same as tven99. I have had a very good experience with mine. Other than standard maintenance (fluids, tires, etc) here are the only bump in the road:
New front wheel bearings early on.... manufacturing defect. Have some occasional slippage on the clutch when the tranny is cold and at low speed, but I'm having the clutch adaptation procedure done Thursday (which most claim addresses the issue). And I have had 1 track weekend in the car. I do not abuse the car (no aggressive burnouts or show boating), but I do push the car and enjoy it in a very spirited way. |

Can you provide more specifics about replacing the new front bearings for manufacturing defect. I hear clicking from both front wheel bearings and have been to the dealer and EAS in Orange County and they all say the bearings are good. I do have 10mm spacers and HR springs, but that shouldn't matter. Thanks.

I am not too sure why I was the unlucky one. Most people had a good experience in term of reliability. But This is the longest time my car has been out of the shop. I had a lot of electrical issues, with the camera malfunction occurring every time it would rain, in addition to the problems with the drivetrain malfunction. All of those were reoccurring problems, I had problems when the car stalled out after a long road trip. Maybe Mine hasn't been great because I had a pedal to the medal kind of driving technique. A problem that I am scared about right now is sometimes my car will not change gear. If i put it into drive I have to wait for about 5-6 seconds before the car goes into drive. The time is coming, I may have to let this one go.
