Getting my AWE installed on my M5 on Monday. Do you still get the factory "pop" when shifting with the AWE?

Oh, ok. If you don't mind me asking, how much did they quote you? Also, let me know if you still have your AWE exhaust sitting around😀

I don't actually. To be honest it's been so long I don't remember. If you contact Josh at AWE he'll help you out though

Got mine put on today. Looks great. If I'm being honest, it doesn't sound any louder than the OEM with Flapper Mod with the windows down from the drivers seat. I did disable ASD and I'm surprised how quieter in general it is now.

My wife however says it's very loud because she could hear me enter the neighborhood before I even got to the driveway. Once the rain lets up, I guess I need her to drive and me to be outside to hear what others hear.

Maybe the bar was set too high by the exhaust on my C7 Corvette (which got traded for the M5). I know NA engines will sound different than turbo.

The install guide says it needs some miles to "break in" but I don't think it will get any louder right? The tone should just even out a bit I think...

I believe mine is definitely louder than stock with flapper valves open but not too much. I do, however, love the sound it makes and believe that when I eventually go catless DP's that it will be perfect.

I have a certain place around town that I go under a bridge with walls on the way home from work that I usually go WOT through and the reverb back from those walls with this exhaust puts a much wider grin on my face than it did with stock exhaust (with wired open flappers).

Love the whopper size black tips too.

I take my comments above back. I found an overpass and holy crap, it sounds good. I think from the cabin, it's hard to tell the difference but I'm definitely happy with it now. It was raining when I left the shop so my windows down driving was limited to small pockets of rain free driving on the way home. I also love the diamond black tips!

Just installed this AWE exhaust (bought from a bimmerpost member) on my M5 with RK catless downpipes. The sound is unreal! Its LOUD. The pops are aggressive and the downshifts are mean.

Absolutely no drone! I seriously haven't stopped smiling since I left the shop. Would recommend this setup for anyone who's looking to bring out the aggression in their M5! Butt Dyno= 100whp gain

That's awesome! I really loved mine on the M5 and wish it fit on my M6...

Currently sitting in my garage collecting dust with my Dinan Stage II tune.

Not from exhaust. You'll get the spool noise from intake

Been doing research on an exhaust for the M5 and think I am going to place an order for the AWE touring with black tips. I had an AWE with resonated dp on my S4 mt and I really liked it plus I think the sound (from all your vids) for the M5 is pretty damn good and at a fraction of the price compared to Akra.
