The manager at the dealership has been fighting for my car and was promised that the car will be on truck today...so I'll have more updates tomorrow.

I was told, mine would be here last Thursday , then it was Friday, then it was Saturday, then it was Monday. Now who knows.
1202 miles... Yes I map quested it! Driving 17 miles per hour, and even taking Sunday would have gotten the car here. I know Minnesota is in the middle of know where but really... The car was completed 7/6. The fun BMW is having with me might lead to drinking. |

My dealer has basically been telling me the same thing. His manager has a source at the port that said he would do everything to get it on the truck Friday. When it didn't get on a truck over the weekend, he told me that they were informed his source would try to get it on the truck yesterday. Still don't know if it actually made a truck yesterday but I would be surprised if it did at this point. It seems like there are more cars ready than trucks available to delivery them? As a result, perhaps they started delivering cars to the dealers that are closest to the ports, then are planning on working towards the midwest dealers. That sounds somewhat logical and I wouldn't even be that upset about it but the lack of information is what makes this process a little frustrating. In any case, it will be here soon.

WOW, that was quick to get off Dover Highway Saturday and to the Dealer today. I'm on Dover and it's scheduled stop at Port Brunswick is tomorrow, hopefully I'll have the same quick turn around. The carrier will be delivering to Gainesville, FL which is a lot closer to the port than Baltimore to Indiana.
Enjoy and please post more pics!!!!! |

It's BS how BMW is handling this...a dealer in Houston has received a car that is for dealer stock yet my car that is "Priority 1" hasn't arrived yet...WTF is going on? I've now been told that my car will be here on Thursday, pickup on Friday.

I really like how there are posts about dealers up charging for the unsold ones they have in stock, and yet there are those of us that pre-ordered that are still waiting...

I am with you. Ordered, car was built second week of July, been sitting in Baltimore since early August. Have also been told car will be delivered this Thursday, but who knows when it will actually arrive. This has been a complete disaster on the part of BMW. I can understanding having to wait a bit in the middle of the country, but what I can't understand is why the dealer closest to my house received their car, which was unsold dealer stock, prior to mine being shipped from port. I was fine waiting until I found this out. I agreed to pay MSRP which is fine. I agreed to the deal and will follow through, but it now seems like a waste if I can drive/fly to another city and pick up a car for a couple grand less. If someone can figure out BMW's logic here I would love to know.

Just picked up my Singapore Grey with Sakhir/Black Interior. First impression, super comfortable, didn't have a chance to open her up because of the Chicago traffic. Had to sit on a charger for 2 hours because the battery was pretty drained. I guess that's what happens after sitting at the port for more than a month. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.
Hope others in the midwest get their cars soon! |
