When the price to get into the M club can be leased for $800/mo your exclusivity goes out the window.
Doesn't take too good of a job for some person to share an apartment and "afford" that car payment. |

Exclusive doesn’t mean good or better. Just think, Pontiac Aztek owners were an exclusive group.

Been in Missouri for 2 years and I've only seen two F80's. One E36, 1 E46, and 2 E39's. I would say they are still rare. Really just boils down to the area and the demand and popularity in that area.

...you know a lot of Americans live in debt....So many people stunting out here is not even funny. People got zero dollars and driving around an M3 blowing money fast. Who cares. I see at least 2 to 3 f30 With an m3 badge every morning commute. I don't even acklowedge them anymore. Imagine how they feel. Sometimes I pop out of my M3 at walmart in my night ware to save 2 bucks. Bet people think my parents bought it

Hey, no one can be as rare and exclusive in car ownership than my very own 2016 340i Msport, and in silver. That's a very rare color for a 3 series.
And, I've got the coral red leather interior, and that's even more rarer..er. I won't even mention the exclusivity of the 8spd AT, made by ZF. And they, ZF, don't make ATs for just any car. The rarest I am willing to afford is a good medium-rare steak. |

You might be a douchey sheeple type of person if your sole reason in buying a car is "exclusivity"

Are you worried about exclusivity or enjoying your car? If you want exclusivity, maybe buy a Lamborghini or Rolls Royce? Exclusivity does not make money for BMW.

Let me chime in. I love the way most of real M cars look and enjoy seeing them on the roads. In the NY area, there are lots of M cars. I'd strongly prefer that BMW didn't make M-sport cars or at least called them something different (sport, etc.) as that to me really dilutes the M letter. I think most people that buy M cars look for the real M and not a fake M. I do think that even in the NY area where there are lots of M cars it still gives you some level of exclusivity and I enjoy that. I agree with others that one shouldn't buy an M car for exclusivity only or to only show off as the key is how these cars drive and the level of performance and satisfaction they give to drivers but I also like the feeling of driving a car that's fairly unique and doesn't show up on every corner
