Screeching brakes

Hi, 3 months into my ownership of SG time machine and loving nearly all aspects of it, apart from when I have to stop!!!

My brakes give out a teeth grinding screech. I've just done 2000 miles and the dealership tells me they are bedding in. They did look at them on 1200 mile service apparently. This is now wearing a bit thin!

Has anyone else got/had these issues, is it normal?

Shout out to Clar, but this does work - I now spray it sparingly when I wash the car and I've not had it come back. My wife says thanks Clar, as do the people sitting at the light as I approach.

Not normal at all, mine have never made a noise ever in 11500 miles.

Just to reiterate what Clar says, no clue if there are side effects. I for one did this about 3 months ago and have been squeak free with no issues. I figure wheel cleaner inevitably gets on the brakes anyways.

I sprayed a generous amount the first time inside the caliper to coat it, then rinsed off after a few minutes. After the first time the squeak did come back as I stated, but then disappeared. Now when I wash the M I just spray a little inside the caliper and all good.

I dont think its normal, it was just a bad oversight by BMW in testing as everyone seems to have the issue. I wanted to try this before I wasted a day at the dealer only to have them tell me its normal for high performance brakes. I guess you can try some bedding practices after you do this as well to clean them out.

Hoepfully you can find this cleaner where you are.

Same issue here on the original brakes. Got disks and pads replaced two weeks ago after some intensive wear on the track. Absolutely screech and squeal fee ever since.

My right rear brake pad disintegrated last week. The friction material was lose from the back-plate.

That was news for my garage, never seen that before.

The car has now 26.000 km's on it.
