New M5 ordered (Uk)
Well I've done it... M5 has been ordered.
Spec as follows: M5 LCI - Alpine white, Full Orange Sakhir Leather Competition pack Active security package Rear seat entertainment package 601M 20" Competition wheels (Silver) Powered boot Universal remote control Comfort Access Soft close doors Rear spoiler deletion Climate comfort windscreen Reversing Assist camera Seat ventilation Split folding rear seats Lumbar support Rear heated seats M Multi-function seats Adaptive LED headlights 12v sockets Surround view Internet TV function B&O sound system Online entertainment Sun protection glass Speed limit display Heated steering wheel M Performance carbon rear spoiler M Performance Akrapovic performance exhaust M Performance black front grilles M Performance side decals M Performance interior carbon trim Some pictures from the new BMW visualisation system (we were watching in 3D and spinning the car around, opening doors, turning lights on etc.etc.) Did consider the carbon brakes, but I don't need them I don't think (not tracking it), then again I don't need an M5 either so it's a funny one. Cheers Mat

also why would you not get OEM spoiler, its free! get it and stick on e-bay why not gain 50-100quid and put towards side vents for example! beautiful spec! congrats! i would also add alcantara roof, as you are going fully loaded, it wont affect much the overall cost, but will bring a touch to interior! now its hard-waiting time |

Welcome Matey...glad you've come across.
That 3D system at BMW wasn't working when I chose my car thank god - it would have been proper expensive otherwise. Huge spec matey..did they reduce the exhaust cost as you had already upgraded to the comp pack? Last edited by Stiggly; 11-23-2013 at 01:30 AM.. |

Had to double check then... but I believe I am correct... I've ordered the full leather, which includes alcantara headlining. I did that with my M3, had them remove my spoiler from the factory but never ended up getting it back... makes it easier for them to fit the new one and I've had a very bad experience of badly installed M performance spoilers on that same M3. Cheers Mat

£1k of that is the tips. I actually didn't see the 3D until after I had done the deal, I was just questioning how the rear seat screens were mounted. Quite cool though what detail it gives you. Cheers Mat

Jan 20th at mo. No have not but wont be keeping M3. Loved that car so hope I have made the right decision.
BMW gave me a brand new M5 competiton this week to play with. It had to be taxed for me thats how new it was. Seemed hard to keep the wheels from spinning at times but the road was 2 degrees and the tyres brand new. cheers Mat |

What did you reckon to all that torque on demand? As you've gone for the 5, will you hang onto the tourer?. Proper chuffed for you fella |

Ah thought similar... the Astons I test drove did it if they had 500bhp plus... so presumed it's norm for non 4 wheel drive.
Keeping tourer yeah. Thanks for the links shall be buying some bits I am sure. cheers Mat |

Awesome spec and lovely colour combo
Notice your comment on the ceramics - like you, I didn't need them, but I was intrigued. In the end, I had nearly every option only M6 and I think the brakes were the best option of the lot (although Comp Pack and B&O runs it close). I feel how good the brakes are every single day and they don't display any of the negative characteristics of earlier ceramic set-ups - they're outstanding right form cold, make no noise and, one of the best bits, there is a total lack of brake dust - the wheels simply never get dirty (from the brakes). Still, no matter how good they are, it's hard to make a serious case for them when they're so outrageously expensive! Last edited by Palmnuts; 11-23-2013 at 01:16 PM.. |
