What after M5
Guys , would appreciate any help .. looking for a car to replace my m5 coming off lease this feb , I was looking at couple of options since i need a 4 door car .. X5M , M3 , C63 , RS7 to name a few .. any suggestions as to which one would be the best to move into ( also any other suggestions are welcome )
I am confused and would like you guys to help me out here . Most of the deals for these cars have surprisingly not been that great even though it's the month of December .

I was in the same boat. Looked at an M6 Gran Coupe, but ended up with a pre-owned E63 S. Figured it would be a good stop-gap until the new E63 and M5 come out over the next couple of years.
It's a bit dated in some areas compared to the F10, but it shines in others. I'd put it in the mix. Maybe the Macan turbo if you want something different. |

I'd check out a CPO 14-16 E63. Drive it for 2-3 years until the new M5 comes out in 2018 or 2019. |

I test drove a '14 e63 s-AMG before buying my CPO M5. I actually didn't like it as much. It just didn't feel like as much of a drivers car, to me. The road feel, the layout of the cockpit, and most importantly the steering was super light. The steering wheel itself however was fantastic.
It was an insane beast and mashing the gas pedal while making a right turn on red, the AWD was tremendous. And of course the exhaust note was great. Looks wise, I have always liked the F10 styling, but the front of the Merc w/ the cool LED headlights was pretty cool. |

I do miss my RS7. It was a little limited in the cabin though. Rear headroom wasn't there. The infotainment system is also kinda lacking, at least on the 2014's.
I do enjoy my e63s in the winter, as that awd is impossible to beat for getting going, even though I have studded winters on my m5. the m5 just fights for traction, whereas this seems to come easily to the e63. HOWEVER, the heated seats and steering wheel in the m5 cannot be beat. I also really enjoy all the buttons and gadgets you get to play with in an m5. Having driven all three, I'm not sure what I'd choose. Have you driven a jag? those are around that price and might be interesting. For modding I think the m5 wins, at least the modding community seems a bit more active. Overall, I think they are all fine cars and hope you enjoy the one you decide on |

Any of the Maserati's ? Also the S coupe ? Really all over the place since I cant find a car that gives me the mix of comfort and power of the M5

BIL drives a Ghibli.....Meh. Although they were just about giving them away on lease.
New Panamera? Does it have to be a lease? Why not just lease another M5 or buy yours? And then wait for the Gxx M5? After owning the M5 and now the E63s, I'm sold on AWD. But the E's tranny is terrible. It's livable, but can't hold a candle to the DCT. So I'm thinking AWD and the DCT in the Gxx M5 will be money. That is assuming the DCT can handle the new drivetrain. The M6GC is still a very sexy car. You can get those pre-owned for a good price. |

I am in the same boat. My lease is up on January 8th, but I am only looking at SUVs. I'd like to go with the X5M, but the residuals right now are really terrible and I wouldn't mind have a slightly lower payment.
I am seriously looking at a Jeep SRT. My local dealership has 13 on the lot right now so I am guessing they will be making some good deals as we get closer to the end of the year.

Hard choice for sure I sold my 2013 last year when the price was good. Picked up a M4 convertible, and it will give me time to consider the next M5 or Panamera GTS when it comes out. Will never purchase another M car new because the next year has all the upgrades they should have placed in the new car. Marketing plan sucks for buyers, but good for the sellers. Can't do the Mercedes thing as I can't get pass the looks, and the same for the RS7 which I almost did but that rear is terrible.
Leaning towards the new Panamera for quality and looks, and my RS solve my need for speed. Lost the desire driving 4K lbs cars really fast, and the HP wars are getting pretty old year over year. The new M5 will really have to wow me this go around with looks, and interior. Good luck on your choice. |

I have to order something soon. I was going to get an M4 but now I will likely pull the trigger on an X5M.

You've got a rather wide array of options and prices of what you're looking at. It might help to give us some insight about what you need/want.
I went from the F10 M5 to F85 X5M recently. I've been very pleased with the X5M. In many ways, I actually have more confidence driving the SUV. The launching is great. Rolling WOT isn't as strong as the M5.

Haha i just went through this a few months ago looking at the same options you listed and a few more. I ended up turning in my 14M5 for a 16 and couldn't be happier.
