Long Islander here.

I don't have an M5 but, I do feel the pain of driving in and around NYC. The roads here are abhorrent and, drivers are so careless. One of those white van men scrapped the rocker panels on my 335i a few months ago. Similar circumstances as this accident. I now leave my ride at my parents place in west-central NJ and just drive the beater up here. It's not fun but, it beats paying all this money to fix all the bent wheels, damaged tires and scratched body panels.

You should get it repainted red or yellow so its less likely to be hit next time.

Sucks sorry bro. I drive my Escalade in NY roads are bad, and crazy drivers. M5 stays in GA sucks living in two states, but I will never drive a sports car in the city. Had a guy hit my truck at a red light, and say oh sorry I will pay cash. Um no his bump was a 658.00 scratch unreal. Best of luck.

If you own the car be sure to go after diminished value. There is def suspension damage here.
A solid white line is legal to cross. It just means take extra care when crossing.

Maybe where you live. I have got a ticket from the Miami PD for crossing a solid white line at a similar intersection.

seems to me to be extremely low considering what your car looked like.

The most important thing here is to bring it to a reputable body shop. from there they will most likely do a supplement and my guess will be another 4k

Adjusters often present a preliminary quote that's low, expecting that the repair shop will come back with a higher estimate, at which time insurance will agree to pay it.

Your actual repairs from a quality shop will be much higher. My rear bumper/trunk lid ding cost more than that.

Agree with Chong0 and Rob///M5:

Insurance adjuster will quote what he/she can see into the initial estimate. They then expected the shop to pre-order those parts as part of the action. Then after the shop gets the car, they takes those parts off and then do 'discovery'. Once discover is done they reconcile (usually on your behalf) the additional damage with the insurance company. The insurance company then honors the additional work.

You'll be fine, but it isn't going to be that low or that speedy.

The back and forth is what cause the additional time consumption, then you will be waiting for the subrogation department to get your deductible back from the other insurance provider. Often times that is well after you have the car back.

My guess is 16k all in once they open it up. I would get a new hood vs. touch up plus a new wheel. My Escalade was hit in NY back bumper 10 mph impact and that was close to 1k replace and paint.

I don't think the hood was touched.

Seems low as fender, light and bumper cover were all damaged - I'd hazard $12K.
