Performance Air Filter Recommendation?

I'm really liking the charcoal filter delete.

Anyone know a better air filter out there to replace the stock? Thanks

Any increase in power? What is the biggest up side of going to BMC? about $200 if I'm correct.

I've read that K&N and BMC filters are over oiled, which can contaminate the MAF sensors. Has anyone else heard about this issue?

I ran BMC filters in my E60 M5 for almost 3 years. Never had a problem with them or the MAF's.

I should order some soon.

We tried them out, they're great! Not a real power gain, but engine sound changes somehow

Is charcoal filter unique to cars in US? Ór do all cars that come out of BMW has charcoal filter and does everyone will benefit from a BMC Air Filter drop?

Asking this as car is in Singapore.

“Two filters required, sold individually." so that means almost $200/filter? and we need 2, that's $400? I will for K&N then

My bad, I looked at a photo of the S85 and saw right away that they indeed did run MAF's. I wonder if they used MAP's as well or just MAF's. I guess this is another one of the differences between the S65 and S85.

I always wondered why they went to MAP only on the S65. If you give credence to Steve Dinan who has a video about how the M5 airboxes were undersized and had not enough flow. THeir intake for the M5 not only changes the box but replaces the MAF saying the one that is OEM was not able to handle the flow really needed to give the engine the air it really needed.

He said they fixed this problem in the M3 which I have to agree in terms of the square inches of filter of the hexagonal cone is easily as big as the 2 flat filters in the M5. However the M3 has 2 less cylinders and a litre less to provide air for.
