I had a 2013 528 loaner for a few days - same nav/electronics as M5. It worked perfectly with my iPhone 5 for bluetooth audio streaming and phone functions.

Thanks Rob. Always so helpful, you must be related to Stealth. Quote:
I guess everyone is different. Hard to see advancing needles in traffic and the stock exhaust is way to quiet. Quote:

Yea it seems BMW has always been praising the Iphone before any Android phones.

Thanks Rob. Yep, coded all the #M5army cars! What a great bunch. Miss you all.
I am back in NYC but will travel to SoCal again and can do in person or remotely (over the internet). Quote:
1) Using the original Apple cable or after market? This happens when the connection to the iPod becomes loose (as you are driving) and connectivity is lost. 2) Under Bluetooth, get the to screen which lists the paired phones. Highlight the ONE with the iDrive controller and hit the option key (to the right below the controller) > configure phone > make sure the Audio box is also ticked. If this is already done, try and delete the phone from the car and vice-versa and repair. 3) I am sure you already called the number? 4) Read the message or hit Play on the left to have the car read it to you. Replying right from the screen is a pain. Have to enter the recipient each time. Useless in its current implementation.... perhaps by design. Quote:
And if that doesn't work, press and hold the volume button while the head unit is trying to play the DVD and it should get going. If you press and hold it long enough, eventually it will cause iDrive/ the head unit to reboot. This is to play the DVD while stationary. If you want it in motion, we'll code it. V12 did our coding and is not only a professional but is very friendly and helpful with any questions you have about the car's electronics. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering coding. FTW |

The ipod gets disconnected when the car is stationary in the garage. Must be something else. I tried checking the audio box, but it will not let me. I have been swamped at work and havent had a chance to call the number yet. I will call them today. I definitely want the DVD in motion so I will wait until cable gets here. Thank you so much.

You are welcome.
Swap out the iPod for another one or another USB media device to see if the problem is with that particular iPod, the cable or the car. If it's grayed out, it means streaming A2DP audio to wireless headsets didn't take during the pairing process, both your car and the HTC ONE support it. It isn't unheard of to have to pair BT phones several times to get it set-up properly. Let the devices complete the pairing process at their own pace and without rushing through the steps. Try and delete the car from the phone's BT settings and the phone from the car, reboot the phone and turn off/ lock the car/ unlock and repair the two. I have a HTC ONE I can test with later. I'll be back. |
