Spotify through bluetooth?

Just got my '13 M5 last week and was wondering if there is a way to play music apps through bluetooth? My itunes plays no problem and when i switch over to spotify it plays for a few seconds then switches back to itunes. I can play through aux but not bt. Any insight would be appreciated!

Works on mine but I have a 14. I connect the Iphone to the car via bluetooth then launch the spotify app. Not sure if this will help but I see the album art when I go to the bluetooth menu on the idrive and then select the iphone. Gluck.

It works on mine. I have the car linked to my android mobile via a Bluetooth profile . Once the car starts, Spotify plays automatically.

i had a bad control unit, causing a few different malfunctions. all good now!

I have exactly the same problem in my 2013 M5 how did you solve this???
Keep switching back to iTunes from spotify after about 1 second of playing

Had the control unit replaced, under warranty still.
