Undertray

What is the cost to replace the black undertray at the front of the car? My one was damaged on a speed bump which looked more like a parking block.

I think around $400, but I wouldn't do it if I were you. I damaged mine 1 hour after I left the dealership on the first day when parking close to a sidewalk it's intended to be damaged and replacing will only be a matter of time until it's damaged again

I know they get scratched. But half of mine is missing - it broke off - so there is nothing protecting the intercooler.

Is $400 the part only or all in? I'm being quoted $450 for just the part, and I suspect he will charge $200 to install it.

Had the same thing happen to mine.. Checked with Nate at IND and was quoted $157 plus shipping and could have it within 48 hours. Dealer broke mine on a test drive and decided to replace it after I gave em hell.

This is interesting. So my dealer is quoting me over $400 for the part alone, and it seems the MSRP of the part is $199 and you can buy it for $185 shipped.

He's got some explaining to do.

Classic stealership move. They gave you the times two tax and the one liner after to make sense of the mark up.. "you actually need to replace the ENTIRE *gasp* panel".

Online OEM suppliers and part diagrams are you friend. Buy it yourself and install it yourself (kind of a bitch though) or bring it to someplace you trust to have it installed.. like an indy.

OR maybe just walk in to stealership ready to kill and you'll get it for free. Just disconnect the dealers phones before you leave and it's all good.

@stealth.pilot here is what you will need. part 5 plus check for any bolts that might be missing from being torn out or left on the piece that broke off.

*oohhh* call you back.

Classic stealership move.

RealOEM is your friend. Buy it yourself and install it yourself or bring it to have installed. Or, find an independent.

These are the same fuckers who charged me $212 to change my oil when I provided my own oil.

I'm going to have a frank conversation about this, and if he wants his 10s he's going to have refund half the oil change too. Otherwise, I will escalate. Ripping somebody off is not acceptable - especially charging above MSRP and above your hourly labor rate.

Indeed. It doesn't matter which stealership you call, they will all have varying prices for the same part and it will usually be more than what you can get it for by buying it on your own. A lot of people are uneducated as to the real costs of these parts. The dealerships make a ton of money off it.

$212 on an oil change with your own oil, that's just insane. My local dealer quoted me $52 plus tax if I supply my own oil and oil filter. Also the $300 markups on the part is pretty scary. Have you though about going to another dealer instead? I find some dealerships are out of their minds and think and treat customers like idiots. Hopefully you will get this fixed with paying a fair price.

You should call out this POS dealer so that the rest of us in the South East don't get screwed over by the same one. We can (and should) take our business elsewhere. Who is it?

I won't because despite this behavior, they have the best tech bar none. Bradone1 also uses the same guy and has had a fantastic experience.

I'd rather work with them and build a relationship. It's partly my fault for not cross checking their prices and negotiating up front. I'm going to correct that. However as you know - South Florida has the worst workforce in the United States, so when you find someone talented you shouldn't throw them under the bus over a transaction.
