I installed a set on a 2013 M6 Gran Coupe and will be dyno testing it later this week. Intakes have been installed for about 300 miles now.
They look good and install easily.
They claim decent HP / FT LB numbers.
Cant wait to see if its true

AFE has always advertised very high inflated numbers on their intakes. Most of the gains will be due to removing the charcoal filter. So far, other tho for sound, simple upgrades filters will do.

I don't like their design which forces the air into a pretty small hole in the bottom of the box. For a little more money, you can get a carbon fiber intake from Agency Power (I got mine for under the retail price). Either system isn't going to give you any significant power bump over just removing the charcoal filters. The AP system lets you hear the turbos spool and blow off much better than the stock air boxes.

The Agency Power is utilizing the factory air box.
The AFE has built their own box which is larger in diameter and the openings for free air is just as large if not better fitted then factory.
And cheaper then the AP design.
But I do like the carbon fiber look !
Great product regardless

I have dyno runs before the intakes and I will post up with the intakes installed.
I am using the same dyno for all these testing's

I installed it myself so I know for a fact you take the factory boxes completely out. There are two conical filters that get attached to the carbon fiber "box" (a three sided box with the bottom open to let the air in) with clamps. I picked mine up for $2,100.

Looking forward to the AFE dyno results. It's hard to imagine an intake adding much power to this car as the OEM intake is so good. Ready to be made a believer though!

Here is the DIY intake mod BMS is evaluating currently.

I think some company can and prob will still make a better intake system at some point. But when options are slim what do we do ?! haha
You right though Mike, the factory boxes work really well. BMW has always made great factory intake systems

Just like the oem exhaust, intakes were put through several stages of r&d and that is why people who are still spending 7k on exhausts and 2k on intakes only gain 15whp. Bmw did a pretty darn good job with these things. I am still running oem intakes and exhaust and was able to dyno 640 whp and run 11.3 at the track. Do we really need more proof?

Once software comes out from tuning companies that will all change. The computers are over compensating.

The only time your really gonna hear the turbos is if you replace the CATS with aftermarket down pipes
