Issues at Delivery

Just Picked up a 2014 Monte Carlo Blue. After leaving the dealer found 3 issues. Wondering of anyone had similar problems.

1. As soon as I was on the Freeway, noticed the Front Windshield has quite of bit of pitting on it, which I noticed while the sun was right on my face. Car had 20 Miles on it?
I took it to an auto glass shop and guy said BMW uses very soft glass, but he could not believe a new car would have it,may have happened on the truck from the port. Suggested dealer could have a glass guy come out and use special polish and a fine steel wool that might help.

2. Speedo Cluster had 3 lines on it, looked like they were inside, not really scratches, you only notice them when the Sun is behind you and shining directly on the cluster. I tried a cloth diaper on it but that did not work.

3. Car has overspray on it all over the front bumper, and parts of the headlights. I think this may have happened on the dealer lot when they do bumper painting.

I brought it back to dealer, and they said they would take care of everything. They will clay, not wheel off the overspray. They can't clean the speedo cluster because BMW will not allow them to open it because of tamper issues, so they ordered a new cluster. The glass was a mistery to them, but they said they would make it right, really do not want them to replace the windshield on a new car.

What do you guys think?

New windshield for sure. I would not be happy with the overspray at all.

Sometimes you can get pitting if they transported the car with the front of it facing out.. maybe the pull fit from some other dealer and had a smaller company tow it there.. * just a thought anyways!

I would not accept it and insist on a new screen and "a paint specialist check it" for damaged repair, If it's been damaged "reject it" IMO.
Looks like a cheap repair to me.

New car dealers have bumpers painted on the lot all of the time, probably clear overspray from another car. if yours was painted, it would be smooth, and you would not notice. On the windshield, not much you can do but have them replace it.

So sorry to hear about your experience
What makes me sad that they ruined your excitement about your new M5 which is the most fun part of the whole buying experience and also them not stepping in offering a new car baffles me!!
If I were in your shoes I would refuse it and ask for another car!! If buying it but if leasing it then you shouldn't care.

Happy new year anywayni
