Cel ... Lean Both Banks ...
Catless Downpipes, Mission Performance Tune, and RK Intake. Tried searching
the forum and was wondering what steps to take to help troubleshoot. Thanks in advance. |

Lean on both banks could mean a lot of things. Since you have a flash tune you need to talk to Mission and have them iron it out. They should have logs or be able to data log and determine what's going on. Do you have a cel?

A little more info OP. Were all of your mods done at the same time or in steps? Your mods are nearly identical to mine save for the DPs. What's the cel code? Ie: if you did your DPs last you could have a cel from that.
Anyways, out of all of your mods listed I would think the tune may be the issue if it is not just catless DP cel. Was it just bench flashed or dyno tuned? |

Can you confirm which lean codes you're getting?
Can you also confirm if the downpipes you installed have cat sims, O2 spacers, or similar? -James

Perhaps the RK intakes are flowing more air than your tune can handle?? In the NE only dme comes to mind for custom tunes, but I think they're in Jersey. I never bought into the whole "send in your DMEs for a generic bench flash" route. That's why I insisted Mission custom dyno tune my car and it's been flawless for the last few months. Edit: I too installed RK intakes after my tune and have had no issues to date. |

I willing to bet when it gets warmer it won't appear anymore. Sounds dumb but I have the RK Intakes as well and I think its the combination of the intakes and colder denser air. When its above 45 degrees I never have a CEL light.

Did you get this worked out? I got the P0171 CEL code due to using spacers on the pre-cat O2 sensors. I've since had the spacers removed and my CEL light went away, although I havent been able to clear the CEL code from memory. I just used my Autel hand held reader.

Ok so I've been getting the codes P0171 and P0174 on and off a couple times ever since my DPs went in, lean in banks 1 and 2. I also have RK intakes and am on a custom tune by MissionPerformance putting out about 670/650 pre-DPs. I would only get those codes around 8pm as I'm leaving work and it's colder, and I'm just cruising out of the parking lot.
So I stopped by MissionPerformance and Alex hooked up his laptop to data log as we went for a test run. Unfortunately I had cleared the codes the day before. But he was able to see that at idle and low cruising power car was leaning out. At WOT everything was ok though. Alex thinks that the combo of intakes and DP + my tune is creating a little too much flow that the car cannot adjust at the low end; the MAF needed to be "rescaled" to compensate. My tune was based on OEM cats. WOT is unaffected because car relies on MAP sensors at that point. So he makes some adjustments, richens up the low end a little and I'm off. I'll see how things are in the next couple weeks. Alex talks a little fast sometimes as he is explaining things, but that's basically my understanding of things |
