Does the exhauste NOTE of F10 M5 get louder with time?

Had about 8k miles on my car and the exhauste is noticeably louder to my ears?
I it is just my imagination or it is louder and gets louder with time!!

I was just thinking the same thing. Perhaps the sound absorbent material inside settles down with condensation from the exhaust over time?

Yes. But mostly because with time we add aftermarket exhausts...

It does "carbon coat" inside, so it does become a bit louder
Like every single new exhaust

Yes, overtime exhausts do get louder as the material in the cats is beaten though. This is my assumption, could be a different reason.. but I'm confident there is a reason.

In my E60 M5 I had a DINAN exhaust sec2 and sec3. Known as the quietest exhaust for the V10 M5. After 2 years, the sound was so loud.. as in it went from "Akra sound" to "e-race sound".
