Smokey Mountains in the Fall with BSM F10 M5
The BMW Performance Center in South Carolina is just a couple hours drive from some really great scenery and mountain roads/switchbacks. It may not be European Delivery but can be fun in its own right.
I did not do PCD but I did take the M5 along Route 129 (otherwise known as Tail of the Dragon) and through Nantahala and Cherokee National Forests this week. Awesome drive, weather and fall colors on some terrific mountain roads. Check out the Sapphire Black Metallic M5 being deftly navigated through the smokeys.  I highly recommend this trip for anyone within a days drive of the area.      |

I was so happy to finally have a new oil pump that I had to take off on a road trip.  I was fully prepared to drive the DCT in manual mode shifting with the steering wheel paddles but if I'm perfectly honest, the DCT in D3 mode is an awesome piece of technology. It holds lower gears almost perfectly and if it's not in the ideal gear when approaching a curve just a slight tap on the brake will cause a seamlessly smooth downshift. I'm in awe of the tech. There were so many leaves falling and on the ground that the front intakes would get completely covered in them. They'd fall off after stopping and the electric cooling fans shut off. |
