Big torque surge at around 5Krpm ?

Hi Fellas,
Another one of my simple questions, but if you dont ask, you never know. What is the feature, that creates the big surge at around 5Krpm ?. Is it more boost being applied through mapping, cam settings, vanos or other magical electronic wizadry ?. It always feels like to me, that you mash the loud pedal, then the car says, are you really sure you want to go that fast ?, OK, come on then, and wham, you are kicked up the backside with a dollop of boost and power. It feels almost otherwordly fast, when you nail it in 2nd gear, and something to watch out for in winter. I love this car, it feels nasty, regards, SIMON.

At 5000 rpm, it's horsepower at play. Yeah, this car is nuts indeed

5252 RPM is where all torque and HP curves intersect. something about the physics of that gives all cars a boost at that RPM. i felt it in my RS4 and M3 as well.
