QQ: Anyone install their M Performance Electronic Wheel?

The instructions provided by BMW indicate TO "Connect branch A1 GN, using RT/BL cable to PIN 2 on A16*1B, using miniature connector G".

Except pin 2 isn't red/blue, it's green/red.

Anyone have an example they can speak towards?

So that's what I've done also, I figured it was far more likely the pin was right and the color was wrong.

I haven't had the car coded for the wheel yet though. Did you get yours coded right away? My wheel doest no power on, I assume because it hasn't been coded, but now the lane departure warning and blind spot assist are angry. Wondering if I grabbed the wrong wire somewhere else perhaps.

I did not need to code my wheel in for either car, first time i installed my wheel did not come on and i went straight down to that pin and switched to pin3 to see if it helped (it didnt) in the end it was the wiring in the actual wheel that i had plugged in incorrectly. Ive now had it in two f10s with no issues or coding only thing is ista software detects my heated wheel is no longer functioning. I do not have lane assist so cannot comment to much on that but id be looking at the black module in the wheel that clip in the bottom right side behind the airbag (4-5 o clock)

Thanks man, looks like this is what happened to me as well. The connector for the control module under the airbag seemed to be proper, but turns out the colors aren't supposed to match up and I was effectively bypassing the control module.

Thanks for the tip! I have a working wheel now. Although I thought these needed to be programmed; apparently not.
