I thought M3 was King!

Yes, yes, I can’t dig the sound that king like to make I was hoping to get past it. King is gone once the Merc AMG 4.3 GLE Coup arrives for the wife. I will keep the two Spyders and use my good ole Escalade to run around town. I hate to say it I’ve become a tad tired of the car market unless I can land a GT3RS in Lizard Green

After driving the car for a week, it’s my opinion that the DCT feels very similar to my 2014 M5. So that is good news!

The exhaust sound is underwhelming and to me it belies the power of the engine, which is a gem. Only 300 miles but it revs quickly and has good power. I did find out you have to take several pieces out to remove the charcoal filters. The M5 is a piece of cake in comparison.

It does ride and handle great and that is definitely its strong suit. However, I have been reading about flash tuning and stage 1 may be in my future. I do miss the raw power of the M5.

Not sure what to do about the exhaust but I will probably have to get used to it!

Interestingly, I called the local Audi dealer prior to buying the M4 to inquire about a “coming soon” RS5. The sales rep. made it sound like it was made of gold. I am sure it’s very nice but he implied that there would be a bidding war for the car!

Dave

Ps. Did someone have to ask about king??

Ok Ill chime in... back when the first F80/82 M cars came out, there were a few owners who were a bit over the top in claims of how good the car would be over the F10 M5.

So the regulars over here decided to mock those opinions by naming the F80/82 the "King"... and then it just kept on going.

Ill be one of the first to say that I had a King and it was fun, quick, and good looking. This is a lot of tongue in cheek dialogue but we respect all M cars, especially THE KING.

I will be the second one to confirm what Vic said ... but KING is not as fast as M5/M6 .... I said this from the day first when KING was out for those kids

Ok, I think I get it. It’s like when people say (ironically) King James is better than MJ. You just let them think that and laugh.

If you don't need the size, I think you'll be happy with it!
