DCT oil change and warranty issue
Hi all,
Looking to see if anyone has changed their DCT oil/filters and then had any issue with claiming warranty work. As we all know BMW advertise the box as sealed for life. Mine has now done 50k miles and is 4 years old - time for a change I think. My worry is that if I have it changed and something fails in the DCT box then BMW is likely to point the finger at the fact that I have changed the fluid. The wording says: 'Care of the Vehicle - you must keep your vehicle in an efficient and road worthy condition and regularly service it in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and genuine parts, or parts of equivalent specification must be used.' Maybe I am being paranoid but if I am to service in accordance with manufacturer recommendations then I shouldn't be changing the fluid!!? |

I have a 3rd party warranty through my local BMW Dealership. My car only has 7800 but I may do the DCT fluid change in the next year or so, my car is not driven alot. I am going to take it to the dealership to have it changed. I also will take it to the dealership for its next oil change.

I have the extended BMW comprehensive warranty in the UK so while I'm past the 3 year factory warranty I am still covered by the extended warranty provided by BMW.
I think I might just email them to be sure. |
