No adjustable side bolsters?

Just picked the car up a few hours ago and was trying to adjust the side bolsters, but it looks like the buttons aren't there. The US market didn't get these?! I really enjoyed it in previous vehicles.

Not having active bolsters sucks. I will miss that a lot.

Not having adjustable bolsters at all doesn't sound right

You should have two little buttons on the top portion of seat controls that will squeeze in the bolsters if you have executive package. Are they not there?

I don't have them either, and I have the Exec package.

They come standard on ours. Surprising it is not the same in the US. Maybe that is why we pay the equivalent of US$260,000 for an M5 .....

Can some of U.S. owners verify whether we have controls for these or not ? I was really counting on these since when I sat in the M5 at the New York car show I found the seat too tight around the chest . I was really , really counting on them to be there. They got to be there for the top portion of the seat side bolsters , yes?

The adjustable side bolsters have been left off all the US (and Canada) F10s since its introduction. It's caused a lot of discontent for 550 owners with the similar comfort seats. It's crazy, but they are included in US 5GTs and the 6ers.

Just checked the BMWNA site to compare the 550i seat which is 18 way electric(I have a 2012 550i) with the M5 . The M5 spec says it is 20 way electric adjustable. So aren't the 2 additional ways the top back rest side bolsters?

For those of us who's cars have not yet been built, do you think we could add this as an "BMW Individual" item?

The Performance Center M5 did not have the buttons.
How dumb to exclude that feature. Both my X5 and my 335is have adjustable bolsters and the X5 ones release automatically and return on start up, a great feature.

Then what is the difference between 550i , 18 way seat and M5 , 20 way seat in the U.S. specifications on the BMW website?

Never Mind. Sorry for all these posts. I just got a call that my car is in at the dealer and I will be picking it up tonight. I will find out first hand how the seats feel. I hope after all these months (put order in, in April) that I love the car and fit perfectly in the seats.

I thought they were only a novelty, didn't know people actually used them. Totally useless

I am going to ask them for a partial refund since they advertised 20 way seats and delivered 18 way seats.

I found them fantastic for spirited driving, when they locked in tight on both sides. May be more relevant for certain body types?

By the way so will I if in fact there is no 20 way . I was counting on this feature. The dealership isn't the issue here it is BMW corporate . I have been thru new car rollouts before : first A8 in Ohio and first Z06 in Ohio . Neither has been as f 'up as this one . M guy should stop worrying about hyping the car and start focusing on the customer.
