Anyone that cracks the flash of our ecu's will be abe to charge a large premium.

I can't justify shipping my ECU's over sea's because of the risk and the down time.

You'd think a BMW OEM tuner in Bavaria would have leaked or capitalised on it by now. I guess it's extremely well-protected, the encryption.

Keep dreaming on that. These ECUs have been out since 2012. Not happening. They'll never be cracked in that way.

They will be 'cracked' and until then I am more than happy with the JB4/meth injection not to need more.

More will probably come with a change of car may be back to a tuneable car like a Porsche turbo or a increase capacity GT3 to get my kicks.

They have said that on other platforms and got their in the end, there are ceaver blocks looking at this plus BMW may leak the key once warranty isn't an issue to them.

You should ask actual tuners working on it about the details. Porsche for example left the doors open by using chips in their ECUs that can go in over OBD. Bosch ECU we have does not allow it and will never do but you can speculate.
