At the time I had my B8 S4, and my friend had the same exact car, color, mods, etc. We kept up with all the crazy bastards doing speeds in excess of 140-150 on the expressways. After several check points, we decided to break out and never finished the run because we had to get back.

On the way back, with all the adrenaline running through our veins... we were in NFS mode and started dipping through mild traffic going 120-140 in and out of lanes and HOV lanes. We probably did this for about 10 miles, by nearly 10 exits. We decided to chill out and coast the remaining 2 exits before we got off the expressway to cross over into Queens. Literally 1 exit before we were supposed to get off, a highway patrol flys up on our ass as I was driving side by side with my friend. He probably did a Eeny, meeny, miny, moe and lit my ass up. I had to shut the car of and put the keys on my roof, told me he clocked me doing 110 in a 60, anything over 100mph is a felony so I got locked up. Spent 24hrs in the slammer, cost me about $3700 in lawyer fees and fines, nearly charged with a felony, but got dropped to a fine after 1 year of going back and forth to court.

It was stupid, irresponsible and reckless. Never again...

Word of advice, if you do stupid shit on the highway, keep doing it until you're in the clear, you never know who or what you passed at the speed you were going... keep going until you pass a jurisdiction or simply get off and cool down the heat. lol

Ever since, I've been cautious of where I speed, and how I speed. I'll never speed in unknown territory. I know my local highway like the back of my hand and slow down in every possible location that could potentially have a patrol unit sitting.
Now that is the type of story I was looking for,
Thank you for honesty and sharing,
I believe we need to get a better grip on handling the beast,
Anybody can step on the gas pedal and be in 100's in no time but only the wise can use it judiciously and enjoy the car's somewhat imprisoned capabilities every once in a while without jeopardizing oneself or others' safety, NOT EASY AT ALL!!

Yes it does and you have the option to turn off the date/ time/ speed overlay in the settings.

Here is a screenshot of the playback in the BlackVue app on Android. An accident that happened in front of me.

Will try and post some footage later to demonstrate.

Edit: no video screen capture on Android < 4.4 (without Root) so here is a video of the phone playing back the footage and using the GPS data to display location on Google Maps.

The video quality of the footage itself is much better obviously @ 30 fps and full HD.

Holy shit I need this! Can you PM me a blow out price for 2?

@Fantasm: PM sent

Here is what it looks like installed (I am octopump on the other boards).
Use the 12v socket on the passenger side in the ceiling under the dashboard. Run the power cable all the way up the camera while tucking it in on the side behind the dashboard, between the windshield and the A pillar and the headliner to the rear view mirror housing and down to the cam.

If a cop manages to catch you after you tried to ditch, it won't be nice especially when you are 20-30 mph more than him and he's already 120-130!! Goodness you have some nerve!!
You clearly don't understand where he is coming from. It's a completely different world over on the West Coast. You can literally get away with murder on the highways there. It IS a matter of fact. Statistically speaking, California is a WAY bigger state and there are WAY more people living per square mile and there simply are nowhere near enough CHP to try and catch everyone. He was absolutely right, unless they already have a chopper overhead, they are most likely not going to chase you. Also to give you some more perspective, there are rally events held in SoCal from time to time where the Highway Patrol will actually escort exotic cars who pay a lot of money(usually in the name of some charity) and let the drivers drive their personal cars however fast they want on the public highway. We once were doing 140+mph on the 5 with a CHP motorcycle cop right in front of us, escorting. It's just a different lifestyle out there and in my opinion it's paradise. Nothing like what happens in SoCal can ever happen on the East Coast. The East Coast takes law enforcement differently and they pay their troopers better and give them much better equipment for catching speeders. Most East Coast states have tougher laws too, Connecticut anything over 85mph is wreckless driving, Virginia over any speed limit by 20mph and that's a wreckless charge, and so on. California, 100mph is wreckless and most of the time with a good lawyer you can get off with no points. I've seen it happen so many times. By the way, I'm just talking about SoCal here, NorCal is different as well, but not nearly as bad as the East Coast either.

So I wouldn't be so quick to judge others on their habits of driving. I always say that as long as you are not endangering other people on the road, it's all good. If you are the only soul on a deserted road at 2am and you want to do 200mph and run the risk of killing just yourself, then it's all good in my opinion.
Yeah that's was a good time in the DBS Dave

Too bad it doesn't have a GPS speed indicator on the video footage, as even hitting 170Mph won't look all that fast on video normally.

Yes it does and you have the option to turn off the date/ time/ speed overlay in the settings.

The M5 really shines when you're doing 120 on the highway and it feels like you're doing 70. I'm certain there are gentlemen on this forum who have had the pleasure of having their M5 on the autobahn and were able to appreciate what the car was made to do.
When we went to Germany and rented an M5 F10 we went on the autobahn did 235 kmh in a 120 kmh zone (145mph in a 75mph)

115 in a X3 is pointless. It's not designed for that. As you said you had a M5 at 145 on the autobahn. That is where it is harmony with what the engineers designed it to do.
