Burger Tuning M5/M6 Intake Prototype Pics & VIDEO - Charge Pipe News as Well :)
Burger Tuning have shared with us pictures of their new M5/M6 intake. They will also be offering a new charge pipe as well and selling both as a kit.
Using the same approach as the S55 M3/M4 intake, filters will sit in the under tray and use it for heat shield ( Once released the filters will sit a lot more in the under tray than what is shown in this picture). Similar to any Burger Tuning product, this kit ( charge pipe + Intake) will be very reasonably priced. Video Prototype pictures ( more pics will be added once available)

This looks like it would just be sucking in the hot engine air, rather than pulling in cold air from the front of the car. I know it's in a box but the top of it is open.

so i know the nae sayers are going to say its sucking hot air but i just don't know if i buy it. The air under the hood isn't a static block of air especially at speed, on a dyno it very well may be but not on the road. now under full throttle the air is being sucked in at over 100mph plus the fact air is coming in the grill and bottom of the car. the particles of air would have milliseconds to be heated before ingested by the intakes and i just don't know if it can really be proven that "hot air" is stuck under the hood at speed

ram air is another myth, remember the engine is a huge vacuum, to get much of any positive pressure into the intakes you need to be going about 120mph to make 1 psi, the rest of the time the engine is sucking faster than the air is blowing.

How hard is this to figure out? They trying to find the sweet spot between MSR and ///M tax pricing? Cost of materials, time to pay someone to weld it together, powdercoat, multiply by 2...make money.

Burger intake is no different then the gruppe M where the MSR intake is a totally different and unconventional design.
Owning both intakes I can tell you the MSR intake made huge gains above the gruppe M. Cheaper is not always better as you can see gruppe M is a lot more expensive then Burger and similar design. But the MSR intake has proven over and over by so many on the street drag and race events. |

My understanding as well that BMS intends to toss in charge pipes for the S63 intake as well free of charge. At least that's what Ando @ BMS eluded to on the N54tech forums. So it does make for a pretty sweet deal if that's the case. |
