Are we absolutely sure that, tips aside, the MPE and the OEM Akra are exactly the same unit?

This was inevitable as the trend has been leaning that direction for a while so my first thought was "it's about time." Beginning with BMW launching the M performance products to bring modifications in-house. It's a smart business plan, and they've done fairly well compared to other manufacturers.
Some in the aftermarket industry used to joke that Akra might as well be OEM since the fitment, quality, performance, and sound are so superb. BMW realizes this, too. Quote:

I highly doubt a price like $2800, especially since its going to be "OEM". Nope. I'm not sure who mfrs the E9X M3 M performance exhaust, but definitely not akra.

Akra list is $8000 and BMW M performance is around $9200 both before discounts

If I could swap my CF tips for M CF tips I might be interested? Maybe IND can do something?
