Sale what u have and give Turner a call. I had my Turner exhaust installed today and I will highly recommend. Some people say you can't hear much from the inside because of sound proofing etc. Ugh I'm sure if thats with the radio cranked up or what but I clearly can tell the difference from the inside windows up. My wife 100% agreed and after about 20 miles no noticeable drone. On cold start up, sick is all I will say. It was mentioned the metal will increase in size once up to temp (tips come out an additional .5inch) and I will agree. Very aggressive sound and throaty.
1k cost
+1.. it sounds awesome... i just installed it today.

Sounds like every agrees that you need to wait a few hundred miles before making a decision. I see the original post was about 6 months ago.. What are your thoughts now?

I paired my Akrapovic exhaust with a Gruppe carbon fiber intake, and I think its the perfect balance between not too loud and exotic.

I am still dissapointed with the akra exhaust even when i've driven it 300miles++ . I haven't gotten the chance to install downpipes, I am afraid the check engine light will go on.

What options should I do to make it louder along with the Akra?

Put more miles on it like another 500 it will get louder. Sit in back seat and have someone drive the car you can definately hear the exhaust more from the back. Have u tried putting car in neUtral and rev the engine in underground parking lot...it's quite loud. Doesn't hurt to put more miles on it...worse case just get down pipe

I have the Akra with GruppeM and AMS catted DPs. I couldn't be happier with the setup. It is perfect and Nate at IND was right, it sounds amazing. Add the DPs and intake.

This is the perfect exhaust for this car. No drone. Not teenager loud. Subtle at normal speeds ...and exposes the beast very well @ WOT. Try running in a tunnel with windows open....if thats not loud enough for you....your annoying to society.

This car is so over insulated....its a 7 series with beast power.
So if your trying to hear it in the cabin ....it will be 3 times as loud to the rest of us outside.

Why do u care what others can hear?
U live for yourself, not for the others! At least i do!
There are so many accords, evo's, subarus, american muscle cars... out loud on the streets, that even straight-pipe m5 cannot compete with them! So whats the big deal?

Btw, akra is most useless waste of money, especially when u buy new! U pay for the name, titanium (which kills the whole sound) and the way it looks (which u never see)
U better change tips and wire your valves to be always open, u get same thing for <500$

I've just been quoted £7482 (inc. VAT but less 1.5 hours fitting time) for M Performance exhaust with carbon tips - that's approx. $12, 670 fitted. Even with some discount, seems way too expensive, yet these threads suggest it's not going to sound all that great

Dealer asking BMW UK if thay have a demo with one fitted; if they don't, says it all really. I'm going to have to check out the RPi options in comparison, as you previously suggested.

At the risk of getting flamed for suggesting this, but I'm surprised there is someway of coding the active sound module to be louder under full throttle?

Thank you; if you can point me in the direction of a website of supplier/reseller in UK, that would be helpful for some initial research.

Part Dept have already said the F10 M Perf exhaust will be hard sell to there DP and I will be surprised if BMW UK have one fitted to one of their demos. I prefer OEM mods, but not speculatively spending that much if I can't hear it in advance and determine that the change is significant in comparison to CP exhaust.

I care for the same reason you care about loud accords and evos.... Its obnoxious.
And why would you care what someone else spends on quality parts?
It seems that you should care more about public noise pollution then what someone spends on their private purchases, no?

I live for myself with consideration to others.... Dont you?
