Yes, but this deepens the tone, with a moderate volume increase.

Thanks for the video. It's interesting but the low rpm sound difference with the switch reminds me of the difference between the full E-Sport and the axle-back E-Race. I'm looking forward to installing this switch when it arrives next week.

Does it come with M5 specific DIY instructions?

Good 8 year old. I've been trying to convince my 6 year old nephew to sit in the drivers seat and press the throttle, but he keeps telling me he needs to be bigger to do that!

Installed mine yesterday. The instructions are notspecific to the M5. If your standing behind your truck, and looking in your trunk your working on the back left corner closest to the rear left light. You have to remove the pins holding the carpet in that area. In addition I had to remove the plastic panel right at the trunk entry where the lock is. This removal is about 10-15 minutes. After the device is plugged in and the ground is wired your good to button it up.

Sound is much better on start up. Valve opened deepens the idlol. Hard revs now provide a snapping ripping sound from the exhaust. This is what I missed from what my C63 AMG had.

You can also program the remote to the garage door buttons on your mirror thus eliminating the small remote.

Ill be driving the car today so I can provide maybe some detail of what it sounds like.

Drove the car all day. The product is worth it for sure. Sound is louder in the vehicle also outside. There is slight drone. Well there was drone in the car to begin with but what you hear now is slightly louder in the vehicle. But nothing annoying and honestly I like it. Reminds me that I didn't have to spend 3k to get more volume. As for a power gain. I don't think so. But even if I spent 3k on a new exhaust I wouldn't feel it anyway. But I grabbed more sound for a little more then $100.00. I recommend this product. It's worth the money.

Happen to have any pics of the install, or is it pretty self evident? Mine should arrive next week...before my M5....

I dont have any pic's, the web site has photos but they are from a 335i install. Just focus on getting the pins taken out and pull back the left side (drivers rear light side) upholstery and you will find what you were looking for. I printed the pics and instruction off the website to use as a reference.

Actually, they do have install instructions for the F10. Hit the links for the F10 pics.

I installed my exhaustmeister today. Farely easy install all around. Remove the gromets, pull the carpet back, plug in the unit, and ground it to a bolt.

It works very well. As good as the mild to wild switch i had in my z06.
Sound wise you do hear a small difference, especially in efficient mode. In sport/sport plus mode, its not as noticeable. I would say that this mod is nice for when you cruise around in efficent mode but still want to hear some growl. Windows down a must. This car is like a sound booth!!!

I think this mod will also be really worth while for guys who want to do downpipes and keep the stock mufflers. Adding volume, then having the ability to mute it to some degree is pretty cool and worth the $119. Im happy with it!

I trust the install is totally stealth. Does the unit install out of sight behind the trunk lining? It appears the instruction indicate best mounting place is in the storage area behind netting.

Mine arrived today....2 weeks in advance of my car......

Going to install on mine. Regarding the installation in step 3 -5. How did you remove the trunks tabs? Did you use any special tools to remove the top and side tabs? Or just yank it out hard? (May break the plastic tab?)

Go to your local auto parts store and purchase a small set of plastic trim tools. $15-20. Good to have anyway.

I initially was pulling really hard, then realized you have to pull the plastic pin out in the middle ( i used a flathead screw driver). Then they all came out easily.

Just installed mine and really like the deeper sound. Just wish it was even a bit louder!

What you can do is take 2 screwdrivers, and use one for leverage. Lay one across in front of the plastic rivet and carefully use the second to lift it. Do this gently and evenly and on both side and the tab will rise unmarred...

As for being out of sight... Its totally hidden behind the carpet in a pocket with other modules.
