Akrapovic and turbo whistle?

Hi Guys,

I have finally bitten the bullet and got an Akra installed on the beast. Thanks to everyone here - you guys have described its strength and weaknesses accurately.

Just a question for those with the Akra - do you notice more turbo whistle noise compared to stock?

Thanks.

I have Akra as well, but had it installed the day I bought the car so I wouldn't know the difference. With that said, the higher flowing downpipes, catted or catless, will definitely make a difference.

I have only had my 2013 BSM/SO for about 3 months; however, the master tech at my BMW dealership installed the BMW OEM Performance/Akrapovic exhaust about 2 weeks ago and one of his comments was the noticeable turbo whistle at idle. At idle it is very slight but you can definitely hear it.

Under load this exhaust sounds great and power seems to come on faster with the reduced back pressure

I really like it!

if you really want to hear the turbo whistling, you need to add some downpipes to the equation.

This wasn't something I noticed when I installed my Akra exhaust which was after 1,200mi break-in.

It can't be loud enough to become bothersome. The 911 TS is a car that has turbo whistle and that somewhat bothers me.
