ISTA-D but running Rheingold SW

You keep in the ON position... then go to OPERATIONS -> READ OUT VEHICLE -> COMPLETE IDENTIFICATION.

Then it will run tests etc. and show codes (if any). Then go to SERVICE FUNCTIONS and then ENGINE and it should be somewhere there... I forget the exact menus to get there.

Awesome. Allmotor you rock man. thanks for so much info and your help. All I can do is ask a crap load of questions and feed the community. When doing this, I will record a video because NOTHING on reseting adaptations show up on google for our cars.

All Engine Adaptations have been reset. WIll drive around for a day or so, will try to get a new log and see if anything has changed. Will also try to do a pull on Dyno flashed stock as it is now. Shop guy used ISTA D to do so.

PURE JOY.

Technically I should wait until I dyno the car before jumping for joy, but...

So, took the car to the dyno a couple days ago and got 511WHP in its stock form. Was super disappointed thinking that downpipes would help my boost/afr issues. Downpipes did not do anything, however turbo does spool up faster in low rpms. So I took it back to the shop and had each vacuum/boost line meticulously checked. I even removed both PCV valves and had them carefully inspected and cleaned. Picked up the car today, and no difference. The Shop said the car is perfect, and EVERYTHING was checked alongside another F10 m5 (that car has jb4+bcm, Bms intake, meth, Catless downpipes and entire Eisenmann Race exhaust. In a nutshell, the car checked out just fine health wise.

My tuner got back to me today, and said lets do Firmware Update on the car (engine software) and lets flash the car back to the Stage 2 flash now that I have Catless Downpipes. We proceeded to do so and so I did a few pulls and sent him 3 logs. Still same issue. Target boost was higher than actual boost in the 3000-5500 RPM range. Same crap.

He then told me, Ok, now, lets flash the car back to Stage 2 flash. He adjusted AFR to 12.7 and made some adjustments. Loaded the tune, and started up the car. Had to do some pulls again to send him fresh logs...

I pulled out of my garage, and this thing jumped like never before. Second gear felt like 1st, and third gear felt like second. First gear was USELESS. This isn't a "my butt dyno says its faster" moment. This is more like I need new tires moment.

I said to myself, this definitely is not what the car felt like when I did the first flash. Holy moly. This thing hauls. The sounds, the burbling, cracking OMG. This thing wants to lose traction in third gear!

In a nutshell, i am SOOOOO HAPPY I stuck with my tuner. I will try to DYNO the car tomorrow and see some real numbers however, car has to still adapt.

just a quick graph:

3000RPM reaches 21PSI and holds 22PSI of boost steady all the way to redline. Anyway, just had to share my excitement considering all of you have been so helpful.

Im glad I stuck with Alex from MISSION PERFORMANCE. This guy really put up with all the BS novice crap I threw at him and all he did was come back to me with knowledge.

Again, numbers will speak for themselves, and I hope I reach close to my 640WHP mark with these adjustments. Will soon know more once I dyno.

AFR Now is Holding at 12.7 and dips into the low 12s at higher RPM!!

By the way, they wobbling up top of the boost was because I had MDM on. DSC was not completely off.

Glad you got it going. However, there is still no explanation why you dyno shop is again off on numbers and AFR especially with the stock tune. Please post your results after another visit. It will be interesting to see if you come in low again if using the same shop.

Oh my god. Its ridiculous. I was just telling Alex from Mission that about a month ago, I went to a roll race event. Its a bit different down here, we take off at around 35-40mph and do WOT for exactly a 1/4 mile (because the event is done on a 1/4 mile drag strip). That first event, I was trapping at around 123-124mph. Pretty slow (heat soak was insane). Last night I was trapping at 133mph every time. I had a friend of mine who has jb4+BCM, Bms intake, eisenmann full exhaust, meth and running i think Map 6 with over 24PSI of boost, and he was trapping at 136-137. He did a few pulls on my car, and told me he simply could not get traction on my car once he went WOT on second gear.

He tells me, he has NO wheel spin in his car (he has brand new PSS) - my rear PSS are SHOT. So I am really excited. He tells me with better tires, there is no reason I cant do at least 135-136mph.

So, yeah. im SOOOO EXCITED. This car is a BLAST to drive.

I have another event on DEC 2 coming up. I need new tires. So Im just considering purchasing NEW rear PSS. Should I go a tad wider for better traction? thoughts?

After seeing AFR in the 14s-15s, the dyno shop was actually pretty accurate. The stock maps (after checking logs - target afr) is around those levels. Believe it or not, the stock maps are that high.

Mission re tuned my car, and lowered AFR. Now it hovers in the mid-low 12s.

Wow. That explanation contradicts the logs you posted and the control strategy of the dme. Pretty scary!!!

Good to hear everything worked out and the car is as expected from your mods

Skip the MPSS/4S. If you're on OEM 343m and only concerned with straight line events (no auto-x/road courses), throw on some rear 315 toyo R888R. They bulge a little, but the traction is UNREAL; you will actually have some traction in 2nd with your stage 2. Speaking from personal experience and 710rwtq, and same tuner

Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly. Remember, i am a noob and in no way trying to act like I know more..

MY Target AFR in stock form (based on all the logs from pulls I have done) is Lambda of 1 which is 14.7. My car seems to have been hitting the target of 14.7 ALL the time. The dyno shop (which sucks down here, and no where near as technical as USA shops) is more inaccurate - recording readings of 14-high 15s. So, I decided to obviously trust the logs more than some crappy sensors inside my tailpipe. Even Mike from BPM mentioned that these cars run super lean stock maps. Something to do with efficiency.

All i am saying is that after I received my new Flash from Mission Performance, AFR has a target of 12.7, and my car is hitting 12.7 and tapering off to low 12s.

Does this make sense?

Thanks Apex! I never mentioned this, but this is my daily driver (until my e39 M5 is up and running again). I will be probably driving the f10 3-4 times a week. So, From what I have read, 315 Toyos R888R are not good for street daily driving.

I need something ALL AROUND - which is why I am thinking OEM tires. Please advise.

I daily drive my M5 with the R888R 6days/week. It depends on your annual mileage; I hear they lasts about 6-7k miles, about the same miles I put on in a year. I have an almost new pair of 305 pzeros sitting in my garage because I thought going slightly larger in size would help with traction....nope. I cant imagine MPSS being much of a different scenario....stage 2 is just a LOT of power increase.
