A Brace of Beemers - Our New M5 LCIs - Scotland....

And; inspired by a picture from the Singapore Grey photo thread....

Picked up from Peter Vardy Edinburgh on Friday. Frankly epic drive home vie the Old Military Road...

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr...mra=ls&t=m&z=9

Anyone facing a colour choice at the moment should consider that in my view; the colour thread on this forum is very accurate.
- In that; Sing Grey looks good, more sophisticated than Black, on a bright day. But on a dull day, it looks washed out and nondescript. I was a but gutted at how great the Black one looked; but the next day was sunny and I was happy again... Space grey might be a better choice; but i do want to be relatively stealthy; thus the M5 badge deletion.

In terms of spec; I ordered :-

Surround Cameras
- 1 on the rear / 2 on the side mirrors / 2 on the front bumpers (which were not attached to the X6 i had as a loaner)

Harmon Kardon

Sun Glass

Note I did not take the Internet Option - but the car does seem to receive news etc.

A concern I had was the synthetic noise. Well, it doesn't sound synthetic. It sounds epic.

The gear box is like a video game. Boom boom boom. Love it.

Paulomore,
Where in Scotland are you ?. Do you mean the military road going over the big hill, from Ballater to Strathdon area ?. If so, yes, i fully agree, one of the best driving roads there is, then over to Tomintoul, past Lecht ski centre, then onto Grantown on Spey, just fantastic, regards, SIMON.

Sure do.
- Didn't have time for the route round Lecht;

I'm based in Aberdeen; you?

If anyone is interested in a Scotland run (which happens to lack the road above which for me is a must do); have a look at this :-

Congratulations on the car and your beautiful daughter. That road looks like it's straight out of a Top Gear episode.

It is actually...

Evo did one with an Aston V12 Zagato.

Top gear recently did the Ferrari F12 there...

Hi Mate,
Im actually from Lancashire, but i spend as much time, up in Royal Deeside, and Aberdeenshire, as i possibly can, its the finest place on earth in my eyes. Planning to move up there at some point in my life. There are some of the best driving roads up there, as you will know. I see the route you have planned, will take you past Eilean Donan castle, and will also include going through Glenshee, and Braemar, just fantastic. Im up in Ballater, at the end of October for a week again, regards, SIMON.

Paul loving the SO interior almost makes me want to change but would look wrong on MCB and I gotta have MCB. But why two???

Loving the drive - the road to Applecross will be interesting in an M5 - did it a couple of yrs ago in my c63 what a journey! though when my MCB M5 arrives. did up to Arisaig at the weekend in my ur quattro great fun.

Out of interest How long from order to delivery? Been advised today my car is at status 1200 and the build will be locked down next week with production then starting - hoping to get it before before the quoted 14th Oct!
