Dude can you give us a short review on the new Viper? It's definitely a cool car. I love how the entire hood is carbon fiber too.

It is a cool car. I thought Cayman was an attention getter but Viper is on another level.

I haven't driven it much but here are my thoughts.

-It's loud, obnoxious and stiff (Not uncomfortable), I love it!
-It feels very light on its feet
-Build quality is not as good as Porsche or BMW, but it's better than I expected
-Unlike most American cars, peak power is near redline
-sound is different but amazing. Videos don't do it any justice
-love the stance, it's wide and low
-carbon fiber hood, roof and trunk lid is awesome. It's exposed underside of both hood and trunk
-very light flywheel, engine is eager to rev
-love the seating position

That's it so far. I'll have more thoughts later.

In Europe it's almost a non sense to buy these cars due to huge taxes and prices for fuel. But being in US it's another story!

Wow looks so sharp. How's dealer allocation in the US?

Here, most dealers are charging ~ 5-10k over sticker with no knowledge of arrival times. Will probably wait until second or third MY. I miss my old c6z

When are we going to hook up and check out each others' cars? You need to get registered for Caffeine and Exotics.

I have a few things I am taking the car back to McLaren for that need attention this week. Hopefully I'll have it for the show. Prob. going to caffeine and octane as well. My buddy Tim and I whom also has a 650s usually roll in very late around 10:00 and stay for maybe an hour.

I'm trying so hard to like this car having had 2 C6 Z06s in the past. Perhaps real world performance data will blind my eyes from those awkward and harsh aero features.

Drop dead gorgeous, and a keeper if I might add.
This might be the route I go down myself. I find the Gen V so much prettier and will age more gracefully as a classic. Now if someone could make a seat lowering kit, I'd be very serious. My head is just too high for ideal driving. Or tracking for that matter.

Thank You! I agree, gen V's are gorgeous in person. I think there's a way to lower the seat. You have to remove two tabs and I think it gives you extra inch.

I think performance will be insane on the Z06.

Wow, thanks dude! This is what kills me sometimes about exotic car manufacturers and aftermarket tuners who charge thousands for carbon fiber bits. The Viper has the entire hood, roof, and trunk made of the stuff and yet it's base price (now) is only $85,000 brand new! I really believe that it is not all too expensive to make carbon fiber pieces. Now something like an all CF chassis, that's a different story. Good thing for BMW they've got their own CF plant coming online and production costs will be reduced. Hoping for the next M5/M6 to have a 100% carbon fiber hood might be wishing for too much, but at least give us the trunk and the hood. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I really like the Viper and was really impressed by the quality of the interior, for an American car.

That tab you speak of is only on the 13s. Later cars don't have that and it only gives you an inch. I'll wait for a 15 and see what can be done perhaps custom.
