Just kidding, sorry I had to.
Hehe.. I think you are mixing Lebanon with Saudi Arabia. Lebanon actually has no desert, just mountains, and the sea.. It was ranked as the best party city in the NY times a year back. During March, we can ski in the mountains in the morning and go to the beach in the afternoon. Its only a 45 minute drive, and in the M5, its pure fun.
Saudi arabia on the other hand has some desert. I grew up there, and do some business there. You do have camels crossing the road from time to time... But the big cities are still pretty nice.
Here is a fun picture for you of Saudi Arabia.

I've met with the owner of that M5 I posted and he told me that he only drives it once in a while (i.e. like going to Resorts World Manila casino, etc.). He mentions that 500+ HP is basically useless on Philippine traffic.

Hence the reason why he uses his Land Cruiser 200 more often.

After browsing through the BMW Germany site (www.bmw.de), I guess they still offer this base feature.

The moral lesson of this story is simple:
If you don't opt for 609 - NAVIGATION PROFESSIONAL, then this 8 inch screen will be part of your default equipment.

If you're fine with the 8 inch screen, then okay great for you. If not, then pray that BMW has GPS Navigation map data for your country/territory and immediately ask for Option 609.

P.S.
Slightly off-topic

On another note, I'm surprised that a Sedan or Saloon car is called as a "Limousine" in the German language.

Any German speakers here are free to comment.

In any case, the M5 featured here is also from the Philippines.

I was taking pictures of the car and by chance I got to meet up with the owner, asked about when he got this car and also asked him on what it was be one of LESS THAN TEN Filipinos to own an M5 F10

Eventually:
He plans to sell the car though and posted a link here:

Ok 1 Used 2015 M5 for $7.5 Million Philippine Pesos = $160K US Dollars.

I should just order a new US Spec M5, drive it for a year and ship it to Philippine for a profit.

This be some crazy used car pricing.

Limousine is the common word for a sedan in German.

Limousine is basically a car where the driver is separated from the passengers by a partition. Why the germans chose to use Limousine also for the regular sedans/saloons I don't know...

And the looooong limo's originating from the US is a "stretch limousine" AFAIK.

There are more or less three kinds of BMW M5 that enter into our country:

1) Official from BMW Philippine dealerships
Prices for new models start at 10.9 Million Pesos (around 240k in American money......blame our tax rates for that). Features are vary though and it's somewhat a bit unclear since there is no specific feature set afaik I think. I mean, the first units came with only heads up display (610) while latter ones came with the active safety equipment (5AG, 5AL, etc.) BUT only comes with 8 inch screen (BMW Business Radio)

I think the newer ones will have 609 Navigation.......since BMW AG has obtained our Philippine GPS map data since August 2014

2) Grey Market/Parallel Import from nearby Asian Countries or Europe

Europe/Rest of the World product builds............mostly from BMW Korea

3) Grey Market/Parallel Import from USA

The last M5 I've seen was at Grey Market Dealer and had the plate frame stating "BMW of Bloomfield, New Jersey"

LOL
It would've been nice car (e.g. Moonstone Metallic, IND painted reflectors, black grille, etc.) but there were some things I didn't like:

1) Miles Per Hour speedometer

We don't use miles per hour here in the Philippines.

2) No rear fog lights
Unlike in Europe/Rest of the World builds, North American cars don't have rear fog lights

3) Red turn signals
Not that I have anything against them..........but most drivers in my country are not smart enough to recognise this (and could confuse them for brake lights). Could cause safety problems locally......especially in a country where it's considered cool to fake your driver's license.

4) GPS map data is based on North America

The map data is only for USA and Canada. Sure it can detect which country you are in but actual places, street names and the like are NON-EXISTENT. The only useful feature here is the compass. That's pretty much it.....

That's interesting. I guess the German language has really interesting vocabulary. I guess you learn something new every day Still, I can't imagine what they would use to describe those long Lincoln limos

Man, I hope you were kidding. If not, you need some serious education! This car will cost upward $350,000 in India. You will be surprised to see the number of Ferraris, lambos, and Rolls' there.

Check it out sometime - you will be surprised
