Looking to get a Tune! Need advice.
Looking to have mine flash tuned. I'm in the Los Angeles area.
I'm running AMS catless right now and I'm considering also adding a jb4. So who do you guys know thats local or in the area that does it. SoCal Also has anyone been able to flash it thru the obd port yet? Also heard about making sure the tamper evident stuff isn't damaged, what's that? Looking for advice and help on this. Like pros vs cons Not looking for a crazy tune that's gonna end up destroying the motor lol

If you're not looking for a crazy tune, then you don't need a JB4, probably just a stage 1 tune. In LA there is Mike Benvo of BPM; he's had a lot of good reviews. I went with Mission and recommend them. I know Mission can flash via OBD, but only after the initial bench flash which requires the ECUs be opened either by drilling a small access hole or by cutting through the adhesive. ESS can be flashed by EAS in Anaheim. GSR is now Trinity Auto I believe.
Whoever you choose, I recommend someone local in case you run into issues. Edit: if you are catless then you can do stage 2 and be in 650+ whp/wtq. |

Anybody figure out to complete the tune with drilling or cutting the ecu? Direct from the obd

What are the factors that are actually being adjusted by the jb4 beside more boost and adding more fuel? Does it eliminate cold start? Also last I checked Can't take of the delimiter with jb4.

OBDII flashing is only possible ONLY after its been bench flashed. May happen one day but hasn't happened yet. Regarding the tamper proof - most will drill about a 10MM or less hole to give them enough access to do what's needed. Then that hole is covered with an OEM looking sticker. I haven't looked at my DMEs in a while but it is glued together from factory and some decide break it open and that tends to torque/bend/twist the housing sometimes and it never looks the same especially where they reapplied the adhesive to shut it closed. If you have downpipes, definitely ask to get the most out of the tune. If you ask for stage 1 they will give you stage 1. Should be able to get easy 650w with a proper tune. JB4/BCM - This is a good option if you plan to stack and want to exceed that 700whp benchmark, someare able to hit that number with a tune only and supporting mods. The BCM allows you to exceed the boost limits needed to exceed that power range. Of course with that kind of power, you'll need clutches, axels, and supporting mods. Personally, I have no plans to exceed my current limits so I opted not to do a stack and stayed with a tune only. As for JB4 logging and code reading, its a very nice feature but I can do that with a $20 OBD BT dongle and iOS app. They have a decent logging feature with graph and easy to use. Maybe not as pretty as the JB4 but it gives me the info I need.

Cold Start: Does NOT eliminate cold start, however, if you have valves, it can allow you to close the valves to reduce the sound. Delimiter: Does NOT remove Codes: All it will do is clear the CEL which is not limited to just the Catless downpipes. In other words, just removes annoyance really of seeing that light in your dash. For emissions, if you have that, your car will fail as it will never be in a ready state for the monitors as you just cleared your codes as it appeared.

HCP is another tuner. Halim Cazimi Performance
He provided me w custom tunning. I told him what I wanted and it's running better than ever. I'm currently using the stage ll. After its flashed he was able to remotely go through the obll port and place the files on my car. So he is one of a couple guys in this forum who can do that. I put up a thread from my Dyno run in the engine section so check it out. Can't and won't go wrong w HC Performance. Especially after watching him navigate through the computer. He knows what he's doing. Highly recommended. 694++ hp and going up Last edited by boots; 08-11-2016 at 05:35 AM.. |
