MFest review

Well, I finally have to time to write a blurb about the MFest in Vegas. Turn out for the event was light, compared to Bimmerfest and others, but the crowd that was there was lively. There were a few interesting booths at the event and the guys at GTHaus were pretty active in the event. Their test bed M5 was there with a lot of the products that they sell (Meisterschaft, etc.). The GTHaus guys ran an 11.6 at the drag racing event and they said that they would post the video of the run.

I asked at all of the booths about the status of a "tune" for the F10 and none of them had anything new to update. The only significant news at this event was at the AFE booth. The had a prototype of their cold air kit and the big news was the their F10 exhaust system. It is definitely an interesting design and seemed to have a good sound to it. They had it installed on "their car" and they also had a display. I will post pix later today.

Can you comment on the E39 M5 that was flipped upside down on the 15N Highway only 15mins after the caravan started? Was this the kind of lively crowd you encountered? Lol!

We flew into Vegas so we did not participate in the caravan but we did hear some rumors about some of the MFest participants. There was no shortage of testosterone at this event as was evidenced at some of the hot laps on the practice track outside of the Vegas Motorplex. We did not participate in their after hours activities but they must have been good.

That AFE exhaust system was clearly thinking out-of-the-box. The AFE rep said that they were trying to source a subcontractor/fabricator that could produce the high quality housing for the air intake housings.

I saw the AFE Intake System at Bimmerfest myself. To be honest, I was unimpressed. It looked to be low quality to me, as it looked as if they just wrapped it with some 3M Carbon Fiber wrap at the very last minute. I will say though, that it looked interesting as it seemed to maximize the available space in that part of the engine bay for a bigger filter and more air flow.

Thanks for the mention! Here are a few photos from our BMW F10 M5 running a 11.699 1/4 mile on a 90 degree evening at 2014ft altitude! FYI, our GTHAUS Meisterschaft BMW F10 M5 is equipped with our turbo-back Meisterschaft GTC (EV Control) exhaust. More information on this system can be found by clicking HERE

It was good meeting you guys out there. Excellent pic of the drag race event and even better time give the altitude.
